Gettysburg 2025

Nice house seems to have been recently renovated, clean and new everything inside. Convenient parking off the main road with walking distance to shops. Our main purpose was to visit the Gettysburg military park which was a short drive away.

New Oxford! Thank you very much!

If you want to go to see the sites in Gettysburg but you don’t want to stay in the city proper, pick this gem! Just 20 minutes from the middle of Gettysburg, this beautiful brick, extremely roomy residence is what you should choose for you and your family. With 4 lavish bedrooms and a bathroom on each level, you will not be disappointed. The kitchen is to die for along with a family table to sup with your loved ones if you are the cooking kind. I know there are standards for these properties however this owner exceeded our expectations! I found no fault in the cleanliness and the design was flawless and comforting. If big city isn’t what you are looking for then New Oxford has a quaint little square within walking distance featuring local coffee, eateries, and antiques. Upon leaving we also got to interact with the owner of the property. We could have talked for hours as she is one of the most enjoyable souls I have ever met. If I find myself back in the area, this is where I’ll be staying. Thank you, The Young Clan of 8

Clean and Comfortable

This home is a great place to stay. This list includes the items that our family found most notable.CLEAN! This home was very clean and comfortable. Many of us have severe allergies and had no issues.Showers have good water pressure for short people w/curly hair. Upstairs shower has detachable showerhead, which was also great. Extended family of 9 had plenty of hot water. All family members (ages 10-70) reported beds were comfortable. Another great benefit was that the bedding was clean, but not washed in heavy perfumed detergent. Bedroom were spacious and at least two bedrooms had outlets near the nightstand for a Cpap machine, if needed.Bathrooms had plenty of toilet paper for the weekend. Bathrooms do not have locks on the door.Kitchen had enough paper towels, dish sets, etc, but did not have plastic cup options for children or people with special needs. The kitchen has a drawer with user manuals for the appliances! Fantastic! The outside yard is large enough for bocce and corn hole. The small patio area has a table/chair set near the grill. The grill is charcoal, not propane. The welcome binder was very useful and had local information. The neighborhood felt safe and antique shops are within walking distance. The home is about a 15-minute drive from historical Gettysburg. Half Pint Creamery is 1.2 miles away and is delicious. We also recommend Mr. G’s ice cream!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Anita! I got my start in hospitality while living in Kodiak, Alaska for 20 years, where I first began hosting guests and sharing the beauty of that rugged, remote island. Now based in South Central Pennsylvania, I manage a small collection of vacation rentals—each one thoughtfully renovated and maintained with care.

I come from a farming family and run several local businesses, so hard work and hospitality are at the heart of everything I do. Whether you’re here for a relaxing getaway, a family visit, or something in between, I want you to feel at home. Cleanliness, clear communication, and comfort are always top priorities.

If you need anything during your stay, I’m just a message away. Thanks for considering one of our homes—we’re happy to share them with you!

Why they chose this property

New Oxford is a charming small town with a rich history, welcoming community, and a pace of life that feels just right. It’s known as the Antique Capital of Central Pennsylvania, and the town square—just a short walk away—is full of character, with unique shops, friendly faces, and regular community events.

One of my favorite spots is Déjà Brew, a wonderful bakery and coffee shop located right on the beautiful circle. It’s just a 5–6 minute walk from the house, and whether you’re grabbing a morning pastry or enjoying a relaxed afternoon coffee, it’s always a treat.

The neighborhood is peaceful but conveniently located, with Gettysburg only about 15 minutes away. Whether you're here to relax, explore history, or just enjoy small-town life, New Oxford offers something special.

What makes this property unique

What makes our properties unique is the personal touch and attention to detail that comes from years of hands-on hosting—starting with my first vacation rental in remote Kodiak, Alaska, many years ago. Now based in New Oxford, PA, I manage a small collection of freshly renovated homes that blend charm, comfort, and functionality. Each space is thoughtfully designed, family-owned, and maintained with care. Guests love the peaceful, walkable location—just minutes from Gettysburg and steps from antique shops, local bakeries like Déjà Brew, and the beautiful town square. Whether you're here for a weekend or a few weeks, we go the extra mile to make sure your stay feels welcoming, easy, and memorable.
