About this property
Country Cottage, near HaHa Tonka Park, Free Kayaks & Outdoor Pavilion Game room
You'll love the tranquil feeling you get when you see the 'million dollar' view this house has to offer! Spend days and nights gazing out over the Big Niangua arm of the Lake of the Ozarks and watching the boating and jetski activity, right from the privacy of your house.
This nicely renovated 2 bedroom / 2 bath house is located at the Sugarloaf Vineyards west of Camdenton right where the Big Niangua tributary changes from a river to the Lake of the Ozarks. For larger groups we have a sister property next door that is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath and sleeps 6 to 8 people (VRBO listing 456932). You'll be 'lured' to the Lake where the fishing is amazing for catfish, bass, crappie and walleye. Or play golf at either of two courses, Lake Valley Country club or Old Kinderhook (a Tom Weiskoph signature course). The master bedroom has a queen size bed, flat screen TV, WIFI, and a picture perfect view of the Lake. The en-suite master bathroom has a walk-in shower and a washer/dryer. There is also a fold out futon in the Master bedroom for your kids or extra guest. The guest bedroom offers a queen bed and a flat screen TV.
The living room is spacious and outfitted with a flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure and a DVD player for late night movies. There is a fold out couch for kids or extra guests in the living room.
The kitchen is well equipped with fridge, range, microwave and side bar for your favorite beverages. Ceilings are tongue and groove cedar milled from trees right off the property and give you that quaint, cabin-like and fresh smell of cedar! Enjoy dinners inside in the dining area or outside on the private patio so you don't miss the beautiful weather and wildlife! You can also enjoy the nice, private firepit just off the back deck. Or, there are several restaurants nearby from casual to fine dining.
Just next door to the house is an open-aired pavilion clubhouse with games to enjoy or just sit and take in the lake view.
One of the best features of this property is the easy access to the Lake of the Ozarks. Nestled within the Ozark hillsides of the Sugarloaf Vineyard property you can walk or drive to the Lake shore and enjoy the picnic grounds, fishing, or kayaking activities. You have free access to 4 kayaks, singles or doubles, for the length of your stay (a $100.00 value) and can pack a nice picnic lunch and your favorite beverages to enjoy while leisurely paddling the Niangua! There is also a propane grill and private patio located just behind the house. Please note that in early spring the Lake water level is drawn down about 5 feet to make ready for the spring rains but you can still launch the kayaks from our dock in the shallower water.
No matter what your perception of a perfect vacation is, you won't be disappointed with the relaxation and serene feeling you will have when you leave this refreshing property!

We had a great time. The cabin was the perfect size for us, and was equipped with everything needed. We especially enjoyed the game room. Kayaking to the caves was an experience to remember! We look forward to visiting again soon.
Delightful little place.Had everything we needed.Loved the kayaks and paddleboards- although a few are in need of an update. Enjoyed the clubhouse and park area chairs. Owners got back to us very quickly when had a question. Easy check in and out. Enjoyed area restaurant The Highlander- and Brewed Awakenings coffee and pastries- along with Haha Tonka Stae Park and Osage Beach area. 1 Bed dipped in middle with 2 people.
The loveliest cottage for a family getaway! We took our 2 daughters and had An amazing trip! The cottage has a propane grill which was great for grilling out, a cute little back patio great for morning coffee and enough space for a family of 4 plus our dog! It was a short little walk down to the shoreline where we spent our time walking and hunting for treasures since the water was low (went in the off season). Since the water was low, the owner moved some kayaks for us closer so we could get out on the water! It was a 5 min drive to Tonka State park where we did lots of hiking and a 20 min drive to the Ozark state park. Since it was off season, some of the local restaurants were closed but it was perfect weather to hike and explore and not crowded at all! It was an amazing trip and we would love to come back! I’d highly recommend!
The location and amenities made for a great weeknd getaway in nature! We enjoyed the firepit and outdoor activity opportunities while also enjoying games in the clubhouse. We would definitely come back!
We have been to several cabin rentals over our 50 years of marriage. I would rank this one as one of the top 3. Fantastic upgrades in cabin and very scenic views. Absolutely worth a stay if you are wanting a great experience.
The home was very clean and equipped with cooking supplies so we didn’t have to eat out all the time. We had seating area outside that we could relax at and enjoy the peacefulness of the scenery. It was very pet friendly.
The cottage was everything we needed it to be: clean, updated, nicely furnished and well stocked. We opted for the firewood for 10. It was well worth it. This is your cabin if you want to hide out in the woods near the lake.
Loved the vibe and loc. My family & I really enjoyed kayaking and spending some down time at the clubhouse w/ the kids. Solid accommodations; Would definitely book here again!
A lovely cabin in the woods with a perfect fire pit and view above the lake. We enjoyed reconnecting with family and loved all the little extras. We will be back
We absolutely loved staying here! It was our second time and we got to enjoy kayaking this trip. It was a perfect experience for a small Spring Break getaway.
Lovely view from the deck. The home was clean, and orderly. Barb was quick to respond to any question we had. Had all the pots and pans, and utensils, cups, etc that we needed. Looking forward to being able to stay here again!
The owners were so nice and gave all the information we needed in a timely manner so there were no questions. Cute house, great views. The club house was a big hit with the kids!
Property was spotless and amenities were abundant. I will stay here every time I come to the area if, we brought our three year-old daughter and our dog. It was a wonderful experience. Barb and Ward are fantastic people!
We love this place. The host is friendly and communicative. The property has everything you need for a relaxing stay on the lake.

About the host
Hosted by Barb Morris
Owners are Ward & Barb Morris who moved to the Lake in 1985 and raised our 3 children in one of the most beautiful locales in the U.S.! Barb owned and operated several Lake area restaurants over the past 30 years and enjoys the fine art of cooking and especially, pairing food with wine! Ward retired from his Computer Consulting career and enjoys working the grapevines and taking care of the property.
Why they chose this property
It is close to town but still a great, country setting with 8 acres and lots of wildlife from deer to White Pelicans, Blue Herons and more! Ha Ha Tonka State park is just a few miles away and with a dozen hiking trails a great excursion anytime we want!
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the quiet of the Lake and especially the Niangua Arm tributary with it's amazing wildlife. During the months of February and November you can often spot as many as 700 great white Pelicans feeding on Lake fish for as long as 2 weeks as they migrate. Other birdlife includes the great bald eagle, blue herons, egrets, seagulls, hawks, owls and host of other. In March, you can spot beautiful red foxes siring their new pups and of course, several deer like to walk through the vineyard and eat Ward's grapes (to his chagrin)! It's a great family setting for renunions or to get away from the city.
