I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but for such an expensive property, we were really expecting a better experience. The pool was freezing cold even though Glen the host said it would be heated. The hot tub is not listed on the property site, but upon
Incredibly misleading listing. In addition to having no use of the pool (and hot tub of course) for basically the entire time we were there, the house is in a pretty stunning state of disrepair. To name a few things, almost none of the doors and windows actually function, one of the master bath sinks doesn’t drain, a lot of furniture is broken, the outdoor cushions are moldy/mildewed, there are ants everywhere, including in the bedrooms, curtains (where they exist) are moldy, there are exposed wires hanging from the MBR ceiling, and an exposed outlet in one of the guest rooms, the outdoor kitchen is obviously completely nonfunctional and falling apart, etc. At any price this place is problematic. At 2500/night it's a crime. It took our entire stay for the pool issue to be addressed, and when I requested a partial refund given the state of the house I was ignored. It's a shame, because with some love this house could be great and display it's cool architecture and pedigree. Beware of Glenn Rice's boondoggle.
