Welcome to your perfect getaway - a cozy, charming home that feels like a warm embrace that moment you step inside. Wether you're curled up with a book or enjoying a morning coffee on the screened in porch, the atmosphere is always calm, inviting and distinctly homey. Truly setting it apart - private beach access - just a short stroll away to enjoy gentle waves and sunset views. Cedar Island is part of the National Scenic Outer Banks byway, famous for its beaches, boating, hunting and fishing. Peaceful getaway to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. Cedar Island is remote. We do have a general store where you can find essentials. Suggest stocking up on provisions before making your way Down East. There is a small dock and boat launch less than a mile down the road. 10 minute drive to the Cedar Island Ferry Terminal and the Cedar Island Public Beach. **Please be aware that the neighbors’ dog roams freely. It’s part of country life, and there is nothing I am able to do about it.

It was my first time in a vacation rental. I was kind of nervous about what I might find, but I was so pleased with the overall experience. We had stopped at a walmart and picked up food and supplies that I thought I might need before we got there. There were item that I didnt think of that were provided, so that was a nice surprise. The communication with our host, Haylee, was wonderful! If I am in the area again I would definetely rent this home!
The cottage was just right for two, but could easily fit four. There were enough amenities to cook meals and have morning coffee (thanks for the pods!)The mosquitos were dense and aggressive. They found their way inside in spite of our best efforts to open/close doors quickly. We counted 18 kills and more we missed on the first night. Beside the skeeter situation, we enjoyed the house with its close proximity to the ferry port and water.
