Growing up, going to the beach was always our favorite kind of vacation. There was something magical about the salty breeze, the sound of the waves, and those long, carefree days spent in the sun. From a young age, we dreamed of one day having a place of our own near the water—somewhere we could escape to, relax, and make lifelong memories. That dream became a reality when we discovered Vilano Beach, a charming coastal gem just outside of St. Augustine. It's far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel peaceful and private, yet close enough to the heart of the action when we’re in the mood for great restaurants, live music, or a bit of nightlife. For us, it’s the perfect balance.
What makes this property unique
One of the things we love most about our home is its unbeatable location—perfectly situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Just a short stroll in either direction and you’re treated to stunning natural beauty, whether it’s the sandy shoreline of Vilano Beach or the calm, scenic waters of the Intracoastal. If you have access to a boat, your day can be as adventurous or relaxing as you like: start your morning fishing on the water, come back for a peaceful lunch in the cool comfort of the air-conditioned home, and then wind down with a quiet evening walk along the beach as the sun sets over the horizon. It’s truly the best of both worlds—and it’s all right outside your door.
Vilano Beach is also home to some of our favorite local spots for dining, where the seafood is always fresh and the atmosphere is always welcoming. We highly recommend checking out beloved local gems like Aunt Kate’s, Cap’s on the Water, and The Reef—all offering fantastic food, beautiful views, and that laid-back coastal charm that makes dining here feel special. And if you're in the mood for a quiet night in, there's a conveniently located Publix just minutes away where you can stock up on groceries and prepare your own meals in our fully equipped kitchen.
