Adorable cabin conveniently located. Very nice washer and dryer. We would definitely stay here again. Steps going upstairs are higher and steeper than normal steps so if you have knee or hip problems you may want to be aware of that. Loved our visit.

We enjoyed our stay in a very clean and spacious one bedroom cabin with a large bright kitchen, covered front porch,deck and grill, The 2nd floor stairs to the bedroom were a bit steep but very manageable. We ended up cycling the New River Trail from Foster Falls to Galax and Fries and back. Enjoyed a 6 mile kayak trip in Fries.

We are sad to leave this cabin... It's beautiful, historic, cozy, well appointed in every way. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking in on the Blackstone grill on the deck. The deck was so comfortable, with a nice two person table, and beautiful umbrella. The bathroom had amazing towels, the bed was unreal comfortable, with luxury linens and high end pillows. The proximity to Foster Falls Park was huge for us, and we enjoyed a canoe float today. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay has been. We will be back.

Great location for access to the New River State Park Trail. It was a unique experience to stay in a cabin built with hand hewn timber from chestnut trees.

The cabin is cozy and charming. However, it needs a deep cleaning the windows are very dirty and the stink bugs are abundant. Unfortunately the road noise was very disturbing and one night a tractor trailer parked at the turn off across from the cabin and idled all night.

Bonnie: I am so sorry for the delay in responding to your review. We took it to heart and just completed a deep cleaning of the Cabin from top to bottom. We also purchased new Living room furniture. Next time you come you'll see a totally refreshed Cabin! So sorry about that tractor trailer disturbing your sleep. Parking there is not permitted and especially running the motor. I'm going to contact our Sheriff's Dept to see if that can't be better patrolled. Hope you will be able to visit us again in the near future. Best Regards, Judi & Ann

Always a cozy stay, regardless of the time of year. Easy access to the New River park, Wytheville, and just away enough from everyone else (without being inaccessible) this is a place I've been to several times in the last year and keep coming back when I need to get away somewhere quiet.

I would not recommend this cabin if you have pets or children. I've never received a bad review until here. Don't sneeze or let your children spill anything.they charged me 250 dollars for comforter I washed for them as I even washed the linens and towels. To help out. Then was accused of taking the duvet cover which was in the dryer drying when I left. Will not ever stay there again

Hi Angie: Our cabin is not set up for families and children. We request couples only. Apparently you were trying to be helpful by doing the laundry and it may be because of stains created by your children. However, we specifically ask that our guests not do any laundry. This is mentioned on the information sheet on the kitchen table. Also our Manager and I both informed you not to do the laundry. We have a special system of cleaning and sanitizing our linens and they cannot be washed in a stackable laundry unit. Pets are allowed and you did tell me that your dog was il. You mentioned that you were replacing the rug at the door because the dog vomited on it. I sincerely appreciate the offer, but didn't find a replacement rug. The duvet cover was not in the dryer and the HVAC remote was not found in the sofa. We'll need to replace both of those items.

Cool and comfortable refuge from the heat

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely historic log cabin. The caretakers were so kind and responsive and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. The location was very convenient to the New River State Park.

What a beautiful cabin. I've never slept by a babbling brook and what a relaxing sound to fall asleep to. The surrounding area is of course beautiful with those fabulous mountain views.

Great place!

Everything just as advertised- super cute place with interesting history. Steep stairs might be tough for anyone with mobility issues but we loved it! Great base for riding New River Trail

5 Star - Perfect Getaway!

We enjoyed every moment at Kent’s Cabin! Judi and Ann were the perfect hosts—so warm and welcoming. The cabin was spotless and beautifully maintained, thanks to Ernie and Sabrina. From the inviting front porch rockers to the peaceful brook beside the cabin, everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. The location was ideal for us, and every detail made it feel like a true home away from home. We had everything we needed and more! Hoping to book again for a cozy fall stay
