Nestled along a slow-moving river, the house is a warm, rustic retreat that feels like it’s been lived in for generations. The interior is a quiet homage to craftsmanship and character, blending Timberlake’s love of Americana and nature with Hemingway’s rugged, worldly masculinity This river house isn’t about trends—it’s about soul. A space where stories are told, fish are caught, and time slows down. The space Rough-hewn wood panels in weathered pine or reclaimed barn wood line the walls, bearing the soft gray patina of age. Framed wildlife prints and watercolor landscapes—reminiscent of Bob Timberlake’s artwork—dot the walls, interspersed with vintage black-and-white photos and fishing maps folded at the edges. The house is fantastic! Spacious inside and out, comfy beds, and a cozy fireplace. Pete was exceptional with communicating through out our stay. Location is remote and mountainous with quaint little towns all around. Perfect!
The home was comfortable and spacious. We loved the furnishings, decor, and cool history items. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are amazing! The kitchen has everything and more. We loved sitting on back deck listening to the river and on the front deck by the fireplace. We enjoyed going to the Saluda Outfitters and Green River Eddy’s taproom. They had the best food and band. The river is beautiful! I will be going back in the Spring or Summer. Loved!
This home fit us perfectly, breakfast on the huge front porch was such a treat and the rush of the river was so relaxing! Thanks for comfy beds, cool AC and a great location!
Check in was simple and efficient, and our host was an timely communicator. The house is clean and spacious with ample in and outdoor space for lounging. Very dog-friendly front and back porch. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, plenty of linens. The creek is just behind the house and provides for a lot of fun exploring. I would highly recommend this vacation rental for anyone looking to stay in the area!
A quiet cabin on the river with spacious bedrooms and living room and loft. Sitting in the river with a drink was amazing and such a welcome relief from the Charleston heat we were looking to escape. We spent a lot of time on the porch relaxing and watching the wildlife (groundhogs, birds and bunnies). Pete was very easy to communicate with and helpful with local restaurants.
The house was fine except for the bathrooms. We thought the house was handicap accessible but it wasn’t. Our son in law was unable to access the bathrooms in his wheelchair. That was a problem but we made it work.

The home has a handicap ramp for my daughter, who is in a wheelchair . Additionally, there is a parking area and one level accessibility for all amenities , again for my daughter. My daughter travels with a smaller wheelchair which is less than 24 inches wide, enabling her to go through a typical doorway . I do not advertise this as an ADA property. It was built around my daughters needs.
We enjoyed this mountain house very much. The weather wasn't great: it was unseasonably cold and there was a lot of rain. So we were thankful we had a nice house to hang out in since it wasn't a great week for outdoor activities. We took our 2 dogs, and the house is set up great for dogs. The back deck is closed off completely, and the front porch is gated, so the dogs could roam the porch and deck off lead. There is also plenty of flat areas on the grounds around the house to walk the dogs. There were even 2 beds and 2 bowls for the dogs. The house is well equipped, and the wifi signal was strong enough for all our streaming and connectivity needs. We slept great too because the master bedroom had an incredibly comfortable mattress: I want to order the same mattress for our guest bedroom. Last of all, the house is filled with unique and interesting decor and artworks. Our host, Pete, was great. He answered any question we had and responded quickly. We want to stay at this house again, maybe in warmer weather when we can enjoy wading in the picturesque river that run behind the house.
