The world's brightest Bioluminescent Bay (according to the Guinness Book of World Records) is here, making this a bucket list place to visit and it's well worth it and amazing. Even after going many times I am in awe each new time I visit it! We are a US Territory, so US cell phones, US currency, USPS (United States Postal Service) etc. all work here which can make it an easy choice for many. Please do know though that it can be very loud here. Many animals roam free here and we don't control their movements. We don't own any ourselves, but they are here. There are roosters and one guest said "your roosters are broken" which is semi-true- they aren't my roosters, we don't have any but they do roam free and make a ruckus, and they aren't broken, but I didn't know that people thought they only crowed at dawn, they can crow all hours of the day and night. We do provide ear plugs and sound machines, though to me it's just bird-song I know it's disruptive to sleep for those not used to it. Horses roam freely here, thus we ask that the gates be kept closed so they don't come in and get scared when they can't easily find their way out. Vieques is a tiny tropical island off the coast of another larger tropical island and has more than 150 beaches and many critters and insects. We do our best to mitigate them and there are still insects and critters. We bait, we plant deterrents, and still there are insects and critters, if that won't work for you, we're probably not a good fit and we wish you the best finding the perfect fit for you. It's unique to have access to so very much natural beauty and that makes it all worth it to us and we hope you love Vieques as much as we do!!!
