This place truly is a gem! The host is very welcoming and accomodating. The house is the best-equipped house we've ever rented - fully supplied, don't buy basics before you get there and see what's there. Pool was great for our teenage grandsons and the rest of us. Location is terrific, easy walk to the beach, the Island Store, the Provisions store and Starbucks. Excellent overall!

Nice relaxing stay
Great home with all we needed for a relaxing and pleasant stay!
This was a great property and well worth it! This was our third family trip to the island, and the first since Ian. We were not disappointed with the accommodations and are so glad that the island is rebuilding!
Other than our stay being cut short due to a mandatory evacuation...the home was excellent. The owner was amazing...could not have asked to deal with a nicer person.
Well equipped comfortable home on beautiful Captiva island. We loved the proximity to beach with gorgeous sunsets as well as local restaurants and shops. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Pool and grill area is lovely. Owners are quick to respond and answer any questions. Highly recommend!!!
My family had a wonderful stay in this lovely home on Captiva. Our group of 6 adults had plenty of space to gather together, yet the home was large enough for every couple to have their own space. The home was well stocked and the home owner replied immediately with any questions I had. The location was perfect because it was a very quick walk to either the beach or restaurants. There were plenty of beach chairs, beach towels and pool floats. I would not hesitate to book this home again. It was a wonderful experience!
Grandpa and Grandma along with grown married kids and 3 grandkids came for a week of fun. The home worked great for each family having privacy for naps and early to bed, and adults could chill on screened porch or massive family room. The pool was so fun and a nice short walk to the beach, ice cream, restaurants, dolphin cruise, chartered fishing, and daily walks. Home is well stocked throughout in all areas. I would highly recommend this home! Lots of memories were made here. Thank you so much Karen.
Villa Captiva is a beautiful home. It has everything you could possibly need for a family vacation - a very well equipped kitchen, high chair, pack-n-play, toys, games, beach chairs, umbrellas, wagons, coolers, comfortable beds, plenty of space…. It was spotlessly clean upon arrival. It’s a short walk to the beach along a private lane and within walking distance to everything in the heart of Captiva. The photos do not do it justice. Karen is an outstanding host. She was communicative and quick to respond with any questions. We can’t wait to go back.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property, the location was great and we had everything we needed. Some of the amenities are in need of updating (the living room tv speaker buzzes, the gas grill is on it's last legs and had to be lit with a lighter rather than the internal lighter, pots & pans are worn). The pool was functional but had sand in the bottom and did not seem well filtered so I would recommend the owners address those concerns.

Wonderful vacation rental
The property had everything we needed for a family beach vacation. There were plenty of beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and toys to keep a little one occupied. The pool was nice and relaxing. There were some minor issues, though. There was an ant problem that was inside and outside the house/pool. There were also some spiders in the house. One of the queen beds was a little worn out, but the rest were quite comfortable.
Overall we had a good experience at the house and will definitely keep it on the list when we come back.

Sure wish you would have let me know!😄 Although our home is treated monthly by a pest company, I would have been more than happy to get them out ASAP for a re-treat. So glad you had a wonderful week on Captiva!🌴⛱☀️😎
The home is amazing! Beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we could need. Beach towels, coolers, cornhole, sand toys, wagons for hauling, a beautiful outdoor screened pool/deck were all part of our VRBO. The owner was wonderfully communicative and the cleaning service were superb. We had never been to Captiva and the lazy stroll down the sand covered quiet Laika Lane brought back memories of living in Hawaii as a young child. The beach was beautiful with soft sand and constantly visited by diving pelicans, seagulls and sandpipers. The dolphins were constant companions as well with pod after pod swimming and jumping nearby. A quick walk to quaint shops, eateries and a small grocery store were an added bonus. We didn't have to drive anywhere!

Family paradise!
I don't know what could have been better. There were 10 of us (4 children, 6 adults), and everyone had a wonderful time. The house itself is in immaculate shape, the rooms are well furnished, and the beds are quite comfortable. There is even a little sitting area up on top of the house for those adults who want to escape the hustle and bustle down below. The pool, enclosed and adjacent to the house, was the biggest hit, but the adults were happy with how roomy it was, the enclosed porch dining area- where you could shut off kids, and an extremely well stocked kitchen.
The location was perfect. 300 yards down the quiet lane to the beach, just around the corner to "downtown" Captiva, and a short walk to Starbucks. (As the internet was a pit temperamental for us, we spent a lot of time there). My only reluctance in recommending is that it may reduce our chances of getting reservations next year
The pictures don’t do justice to the beautiful warm inviting retreat. Anything you could need for a perfect vacation was there. The accommodations were very comfortable and it was nice to have games for the adults and toys for our 3 year old. It was an easy walk to the beach or local shops. I appreciate the owner provided a cart to use for beach equipment. We loved the owners tip to attend the islands farmers market. It was amazing.
Property lived up to its billing, location was great, and being just off season, there were no crowds to contend with! Restaurants within walking distance. Beach was beautiful!
This is our first time staying on Captiva instead of Sanibel and we loved it! Great location, plenty of room for family, and it has everything you might need. We’d love to come back!
This was a perfect home away from home. This trip was the first time bringing together two families and the house was perfect for that. The upstairs felt like a completely separate unit which was perfect for what we needed. Also I have three children under 4 and there were pack and plays and even a monitor to keep an eye on them while they were napping. This house came with it all. Thanks Karen!
We really enjoyed our stay! Fabulous house for families. They have thought of everything! Perfect location! We will be back for sure! Karen was so wonderful to work with and answered all our questions! Thanks so much

About the host

We began coming to Captiva many years ago, and eventually bought the Captiva Villa in 1999. Our children grew up coming to the island as often as we possibly could! Eventually, we moved to the area permanently, and we still go out to the island as often as we can!
Why they chose this property
We hope you enjoy our little slice of paradise as much as we have over the years! Captiva is a magical place, and the Captiva Villa is the perfect place to explore the island!!!
