About this property
Ocean View 3 bed, 3 bath. Private pool. Steps to the beach in gated community
Our home is in a gated community called Andromeda directly on the Pacific Ocean in the dry arc. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a 2pc. is professionally designed for entertainment. The primary has an ensuite and sliding doors onto the pool deck. All bedrooms have queen beds. We have our own pool which is multi-level, covered patio area and a rooftop terrace with incredible views of the ocean (Iguano Island and whale watching). We also designed a sunken living room with fireplace for evenings. The beach club has a restaurant and bar, games room, large infinity pool and access to the private beach. It is usually open 10am-10pm and many residents wander down about 2pm for a social drink. I have attached pictures of the beach club from our deck as well as the private beach. The nearest town is Pedasi, which is a fishing village 5 minutes from Andromeda. It is full of Panamanian culture and art, wee shops, fantastic restaurants. (no huge malls with brand names!) The surrounding area has numerous quiet beaches if you want to drive and explore. The girls favourite beach is Playa Venoa (30 minutes from us) which is a stunning beach where they surf, snorkel and swim. There is restaurants all along the beach and shopping. We fly Air Transat directly into Rio Hato from Toronto when we go down between end of October and end of April. Our community is 200km from the airport. The first time we had a car from the car rental agency pick us up and take us to Pedasi. They left us with the car. We are now comfortable to rent a car right at the airport and drive ourselves. If you go down May-October you would fly into Panama City and it is a 5 hr drive. We have done this as well and stopped part way to enjoy a resort and beach area. We wanted a truly Panamanian experience and that is why we chose Pedasi. We wanted culture, adventure and relaxation. You can often find yourself on a quiet beach, all to yourself!! Andromeda offers a perfect blend of quiet privacy with the opportunity to socialize at your pleasure. If you feel you are interested, we are excited to share this experience with you.

About the host
Hosted by Chris Wynn

We live in a small town in Ontario, Canada, called Kemble. It is perched on the shores of Georgian Bay of Lake Huron. We have 4 daughters and have always hoped to create an environment where our girls will love to come home and hopefully bring their families by for a stay. We built this house in Pedasi to have adventures with the family and immerse ourselves in the culture. We hope to retire for a few months during the crazy winter weather in Kemble. We felt very lucky to be in such an amazing area of Panama...and the world and wanted to have others experience this area. We did not build this home to make money, we are renting to hopefully help to cover some of the costs of a vacation home.
Why they chose this property
Pedasi is a very special place!!!! We found it by accident about 5 years ago and after visiting for a week, we decided this is a place we want to spend more of our lives in. The community is very friendly and it offers everything you could ever want, without the commercial/tourist feel. There are so many quaint little shops and restaurants in the town of Pedasi and if you are lucky enough to experience one of their Holidays or Celebrations...you will be in for a treat. The Community of Andromeda is a perfect balance. We are on the Pacific ocean and you have the luxury of just hanging at the house and floating in the pool. If you feel like socializing, you can go down to the Beach Club, order a special drink and enjoy that environment. The pool, social room and restaurant are amazing. They have entertainment some nights and it is not unheard of to think you are just going down to say hi and you end up ordering dinner and hanging there for a few hours. THEN THERE IS THE BEACH!! This absolutely beautiful beach is all yours, many of the times. Personally, I would usually go down with my coffee in the morning and watch the sun come up.....with no one around. (except maybe a Turtle)
What makes this property unique
We had our house professionally designed. It offers a variety of areas to relax and to socialize. Each bedroom is large. The Kitchen/dining room and living room are open concept and outside is like nothing you have seen. You can seek shade under the covered porch, sunbath on the patio in the loungers, enjoy the private pool with 3 separate depth levels, kick back on the cover rooftop terrace and watch whales go by, or the unique sunken living room is a great area to hang at night with the gas firepit. We even had a get together with all the neighbors and watched a movie on a projector from the firepit... The location of Pedasi is very good for adventures. We can go to many close and very private beaches. If you want to check out a band and have a $1 beer, you go to Arenal Beach... also where you go if you want to catch a boat out to Iguana Island. If you feel up to a surf community...you can go to Playa Venao. Snorkel, scuba, surf or just relax at a beach side restaurant as you eat wood fired food with your feet in the sand.
