Tranquil - North Porch Cottage - New AC - KING & QUEEN beds

Find your home away from home in Northern Door at North Porch Cottage! Newly remodeled and planned with families like ours in mind to enjoy. 3 bedroom 1.5 bath ranch with generous sized common and multiple outdoor spaces. Features a covered patio and front porch located just minutes walk to Gill Rock for water views. 5 mins to Ellison Bay and less than 15 mins to Sister Bay. New bedding & mattresses, high speed WIFI, Roku TVs, ample space, etc. Master features king sized bed.



All bedrooms are located to the rear of the cottage and are equipped with black out shades to enjoy rest. Air conditioning / climate control added in 2026 for all bedrooms and in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern conveniences everything from coffee grinder/maker to air fryer for quick snacks when preferring not to use the oven. The kitchen will comfortably seat your group for indoor dining, kids playing with toys available, or inside game night. The outdoor covered patio is tucked off to the side of the LR and covered where your group can stay comfortable out of sun or elements for breakfast or lunch or enjoy a cool evening after a BBQ under the ambience of outdoor lights. For those with children, the bunk room with an adjoining 1/2 bathroom is located furthest away from outdoor and common spaces to alleviate concerns of sleep distractions.



The cottage is nestled against serene woodlands and its not uncommon to catch a glimpse of deer or other wildlife out back or grabbing a snack from their favorite apple trees in the front. The front of the house and front porch will enjoy morning warmth and sunlight while sipping your morning coffee or tea from the front porch.



If you are boater, the property and driveway well accommodates a boat trailer for parking and located very close to Gills Rock and Ellison Bay boat launches for day trips not requiring a slip.

The house was exactly what we were looking for, away from the crowd and congestion of the “in-town” options but close enough to be able to do all the activities we wanted. It was clean and very comfortable, and plenty big enough for our group of six adult family members. We would definitely stay here again!

When we stayed Sept 21 thru Sept 24 our experience regarding the heating in the house was an issue. Rooms were cold and the upper wall unit in the master BR blew cold air into the room! And response from the host was not timely. Also the windows throughout the house are very old and we even found some that were not fully able to be properly closed. Overall we were not impressed. Will not plan a vacation in that structure again!

Beautiful setting and a huge house. We enjoyed the fire pit and it was wonderful that firewood was provided. The AC, although not necessarily needed, was quiet and efficient. Lots of room for relaxing. There was a minor issue with supplies, but the host took care of it immediately. Communication with the host was excellent. Access to the property was easy. We would definitely stay here again!

We cherish our family time in Door County enjoying water sights, fishing, going to the beach, seeing drive-in movies, and enjoying restaurants. When we aren’t able to be at the cottage, we looking forward to being able to share our home with you to create those same special memories.

Choose this property if you enjoy being away from the "hustle and bustle" of the main towns but like ease of access, walks to Gills Rock, or like a very short drive to Ellison Bay, Sister Bay, and Bailey's Harbor. Guest commonly compliment the house layout, peaceful surroundings, and the comforts and amenities of the house itself. They also compliment us as great hosts being responsive and helpful.
