Villa Description:

Imagine waking up to freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee and breathing in fresh air while enjoying a view of picturesque mountains. Then, spend the afternoon relaxing in a private infinity pool with solar heating. Does that sound like paradise? Because it is.

This private and gated villa is located in a safe, quiet, and peaceful neighborhood, surrounded by landscaped gardens and beautiful scenery. The villa features European-inspired decor and floor-to-ceiling windows. Experience a taste of Pura Vida.

Bedroom Layout:

All the bedrooms have Queen-sized beds. Upon arrival, we offer a complimentary breakfast that includes fruits, coffee, milk, sugar, bread, butter, cheese, and a bottle of wine. INTERNATIONAL CHEF AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST.

- The master bedroom overlooks the garden and is equipped with a 60" TV, a comfortable Queen bed, and a private full bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower.
- The junior bedroom has a 40" TV and a Queen bed.
- The third bedroom also has a Queen bed and garden views, plus a game center with a variety of board games: poker, Monopoly, roulette, chess, and checkers.
The second bathroom includes a shower and vanity area.
- A fourth bedroom is located adjacent to the main villa. It has a Queen bed, private bathroom, TV, and outdoor access.

Amenities and Equipment:

- The TVs have access to 60 channels, and the villa has WiFi throughout the house.
- There is an office corner with an ergonomic chair, scanner, and printer.
- The open-concept kitchen, with high ceilings, creates a sense of spaciousness. It is fully equipped with a dishwasher, stovetop oven, microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, and a full sink.
- From the dining room, which seats six, you can step out onto the patio for a drink. The patio includes outdoor seating and a grill.

Extras:

- There is a laundry area on-site.
- The villa is very secure, surrounded by six outdoor security cameras, and the owners live next door. Despite this, you will have complete privacy, as the houses are separated by a morning glory and bamboo wall. We are discreet and peaceful.

Surroundings:

- There are excellent restaurants in the area, including one half a mile away with an incredible view that serves late.
- Many takeout spots are easily accessible by taxi at a very affordable fare.
- A chef can also come to the villa upon request.
- The property is less than 10 minutes by car from downtown Atenas.
- There are daily yoga classes in Atenas, and you can book private massages at the villa by appointment. There is also an excellent acupuncturist nearby.

Additional Details:

The villa is equipped with ceiling fans, and the natural air conditioning (Costa Rican breeze) will take care of the rest.

My daughter and I flew to Costa Rica for a long weekend to visit my son who is in college in San Jose for the semester. This property was perfect for our little reunion. Plenty of space, beautiful views way up in the hills, and a pool. The owners were very helpful and charming. Liked that the house had a local flavor and not generic like most hotels and many other rentals were. Nice restaurants in town. Was central to our day trips.

This house has abundant charm. The location provided a pleasant, peaceful, quiet getaway. Close enough to town for convenience, but far enough away to feel safe and secure. Six year old grandson loved the pool. Great place to stay for rest and relaxation. We would definitely stay here again.

The views were amazing, we arrived at night and were in awe of the view, when we woke in the morning our jaws dropped at the beautiful view in the daylight. If you are looking for a peaceful, clean property with an excellent view, you have found it! Unforgettable Experience in a Beautiful Home with Amazing Hosts

This property lives up to (and exceeds) the pictures in the listing. It was an authentic 'Costa Rican" experience. Atenas had some great restaurants and the home was emaculate. Everything was very clean, well stocked, and the owners were very attentive to every need and went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. Highly recommend!

Great location in the mountains with awesome views of the valley and San Jose (especially at night). Truly, the story is true about Atenas having the best climate. Best Costa Rica Stay!

We stayed with Guida and John for a week. It was 4 of us. We really enjoyed the house and the views are spectacular. Both Guida and John and the most wonderful hosts. They live on the property, in the house that is pretty much adjacent to the rental and they are extremely attentive, easy to chat with, and very kind. We could not ask for better hosts. We would absolutely recommend you book your stay with them. You will not regret it.

Beautiful home in the hills with fabulous views

Fantastic property with incredible views. Home and surrounding property were pristine. Peaceful, quiet setting in the hills with a wide vista overlooking the valley. Gracious hosts John and Guida are nearby and welcomed us with a lovely note & bottle of wine. Really enjoyed their sweet dog Leika as well. Used a private driver for our excursions and always loved returning to this paradise at the end of the day. So grateful for the experience and their hospitality. We would definitely return!

Magic Mountain Villa

The property was very beautiful and you could tell a lot of time and love went into the landscaping! If you just want a place to relax and totally enjoy the scenery, this villa is definitely for you! The view was beautiful everyday! We were unsure of the no a/c but being on the mountainside was a/c enough for March! The owners are next door and though it was a little different from other Vrbos we have stayed in, it was nice to have someone looking out for us in a country we had not been to before. I would recommend renting the house and the two extra rooms to have the property entirely to yourselves. I already have friends looking to visit Costa Rica and stay in Atenas in this villa! This was our granddaughters first trip out of the country and they are ready to go back. I would recommend a rental vehicle that has more horsepower than a lawn mower! It is a trek to go up the mountains. I would definitely go back!

Breathtaking views!!!

Wonderful property and the views: WOW! Conveniently close to town but far enough you don’t get traffic noise! The whole house is lovely and well maintained! The pool was a tiny chilly as there is a good breeze being up so high, however we still enjoyed it! Our hosts were very helpful with recommendations on places to see and eat! So appreciated that! Could’ve stayed another week!!! This area is more ex-pat than it is touristy, which we really enjoyed. We LOVE the people of Costa Rica- and the slow lifestyle is something we could deftget used to!!! Great vacation!!!

The property and the view from the property was breathtaking and did not disappoint! Our stay at this property was nothing short of welcoming and glorious! The morning sun to the evening/night clouds were amazingly gorgeous! The clouds that continually changed the landscape was nothing like we've ever experienced! Guida and John were great! Simply amazing with beautiful views

The house was quite clean and comfortable. The hosts went out of their way to make everything great for us and had wonderful recommendations on everything from activities to restaurants to the best place to get meat. Our meal prepared by the Chef Olsen del Toro was out of this world. Would definitely recommend! Could not have been happier with our choice to stay there and hope to be able to go back. Oh, and the weather temperature is perfect all the time. It did rain in the afternoons but it is that time of year.

Charming and viw to die for!

Stayed here 4 nights in November with 2 friends. We loved the property and views so much we really didn't want to do much except hang there using the pool, watching the cows, and reading our books. The home has so many beautiful touches, many brought from Portugal by the owner as well as photos from her well known photographer husband! We were so warmly welcomed by Guida and John, a welcome basket on arrival and sharing a wonderful conversation our last night. I hope to see them again next year when I return! Beautiful property with stunning views

We fall in love with the mountain where the property is located. The house is secluded and feels very safe. It has stunning views day and night! My husband and I enjoyed so much drinking our cups of coffee in the morning. John and Guida are wonderful hosts and were available to guide us during our stay in regards to tours and places to visit. Costa Rica is a beautiful Country and for sure we will return and even consider the possibility of retiring in this Country. Book your stay you won’t regret it! Amazing Views

John and Guida hosted us on short notice after our previous vrbo reservation was not as advertised. They are the most amazing and accommodating hosts and as a bonus you get to visit with Laika (very friendly German shepherd). Their home is on the same property so if anything is needed they are right there. The views are absolutely breathtaking and you even get the added bonus of cows, they have a path just below the house to go from field to field. The views are visible from most rooms in the house as well, which is furnished perfectly with all the amenities you would need. John and Guida really do treat you like family and we will definitely be visiting again!

We can't say enough about how special our stay was. Way beyond any expectations we might have had prior to arriving to Atenas for the first time.
