About this property

Swim, kayak or paddle board from our Beach!!!

Most people call our place Paradise and it truly is! We do live on the property but travel frequently so we may or may not be home when you visit. We are available if you have questions but you will have privacy. WE DO NOT ALLOW BIG PARTIES. Our maximum amount of guests is 6 people.

We have a beautifully furnished 1280 sq. ft. two bedroom, one bath garage apartment ready for your enjoyment.; MAXIMUM OF 6 PEOPLE. Our kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking needs. The kitchen-living area is a large, open space where you can still enjoy family time while cooking. The living area has a flat screen TV for your enjoyment. Both bedrooms have queen beds. The master bedroom has a TV with a DVD player. The living area also has a full size sleeper sofa. This apartment is situated directly behind our house (about 150' from the lake). Our property is located at the end of the street so we're secluded with lots of trees. We have a large dock with two boat slips and ladder (for swimming) plus a large seating area (no splinters-we used all recycled composite boards)! Enjoy our sandy beach area where kids can walk out into the lake to swim or sit and play in the sand (our grand kids love it)! Also enjoy our nice fire-pit area that overlooks the lake. It's a great place to roast marshmallows or hot dogs over an open fire in the evenings as you watch the moon come up over the main channel.

Bring your own boat or jet skis, there is boat launching nearby. Or, rent a boat by the day or week from What's Up Watersports, CS Rentals of LN, Lake Norman Marine and others that specialize in Jet Ski and pontoon rentals.

While our home is close to many good restaurants and other attractions you will feel that you have entered your own private retreat. We are about 10 miles from Mooresville, NC....also known as Race City USA. We supply your initial start up of toilet paper and paper towels. Enjoy all the comforts of home as you relax and build precious memories at our “Private Point” resort!! So.... come and enjoy!!! YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU CAME!!!

Across street is Hardee's, Taco Bell, Duncan Donuts, McDonald's, Cookout, etc.

Our hosts made us feel like we were staying with friends we haven’t seen in a while. So very welcoming and kind. They fit this peaceful place. The beach was amazing and such a perfect spot: quiet and shaded. The accommodations were clean, stylish, and serene, and had everything we needed. Made for a stay full of smiles and relaxation. I would come here again and again. Sad we had to leave.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Very clean & updated. The bed was super comfortable. Sandra & Rex are wonderful host. This was our anniversary week. There were flowers & a note saying Happy Anniversary when we arrived. We had boat dock & beach area to ourselves. Truly the most peaceful, relaxing vacation we've ever had. Highly recommend! We will stay there again for sure.

Perfect getaway

I don't think I have ever stayed in a cleaner rental. We stayed in the 2-bdrm garage apartment, and the space was perfect for our family. The kitchen was well stocked, and beds and linens were comfy and cozy. The lake beach was shaded by trees most of the day, which helped keep us cool and sunburn-free. We loved the fire pit and all the beautiful trees. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. We will be back!

Perfect spot for our long weekend!

We loved staying at Rex and Sandra's apartment over their large garage! It has everything you need. It is very clean and nicely decorated. Very up to date! Seems brand new. The bathroom is huge! The property is perfect! Right on the lake...My kids loved the beach area which stays nice and shaded during the day. We rented jet skis close by and had such a good time! We can't wait to go back!! Thank you Rex and Sandra

Lakeside Paradise

An extremely well maintained property on a dead end street. Beautifully landscaped, with a brick path leading from the house between the mature shade trees, to the large dock on Lake Norman. We stayed in the downstairs apartment, and we were stunned when we first saw it; the photos don't do it justice. Just beautiful! The hosts, who were away for most of our stay, did check with us to make sure everything was going okay. Overall, we had a delightful stay, and we would not hesitate to come back again. Five star all the way.

Loved it

We loved every minute we stayed at Sandra and Rex's property. The lower level apartment was impeccably clean (and I am very picky) and well stocked with anything we could have possibly needed. The outdoor space was equally clean and well taken care of. I also had a chance to peek at the other rental apartment above the garage and it was equally as nice! They really have thought of everything to make their property comfortable and relaxing for all who stay there. You can see how much pride they take in their property. Sandra was more than kind thought our stay, never intrusive but available if we needed anything. We so enjoyed talking with her! She knew our son was missing his friends at home so she so graciously invited him to play with her grandkids one day. The best part of the trip he said! Thank you so much for sharing your place with us- we had a great vacation and will definitely stay in touch and hopefully come to Lake Norman again!!

Socially Distant Honeymoon Retreat!

10/10 recommend!! I don't normally sit down and write reviews but this property was amazing. My wife and I got married in May during Covid and literally every plan we had changed. We wanted a quiet, peaceful getaway until we could have a big honeymoon. I'm so glad we found this property online. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment over the garage, but the apt under the house would have been just as good. Sandra and Rex were around and great to chat with while also giving us our privacy. Our guest home could not have been cleaner. We were very impressed, especially during these times! Everything we needed was at the home including an awesome gas grill. Make sure to watch the doe graze in the field behind the property...right off the back window or deck! Just down the hill is your private paradise with a private beach, comfy adirondack chairs, separate fire pit with seating, and a private dock. The two kayaks were also a big draw for us, wanting to socially distance, and we took those out 2-4 times a day. CS Rentals is 15 minutes away if you want to rent a jetski or boat (we did!) and we did check out Devaste winery. It was under 20 minutes away, great social distancing and sanitizing, delicous wine/beer and you can bring a picnic and maybe catch a live band. We grabbed to-go from Pellegrino's right by the winery and it was delicious. Every house on the lake seems to have steep yards and this yard was sloping but not steep by any means. I can't say enough positive things about our trip to this property. Please book this place if you're reading this!

Lake Norman Cottage

We had a wonderful stay at this Lake Norman cottage. The hosts Sandra and Rex, were warm and welcoming, sharing helpful information about the local history and offering recommendations for dining and activities in the extended area. The cottage was exactly as described: clean, well-lit, spacious and beautifully decorated. The beds were comfortable, and the towels and sheets were of a nice quality. There is a lake view from the deck, and it is only a short stroll down to the beachfront. Here the hosts have arranged a firepit with a variety of seating options overlooking the lake. There are numerous trees, bushes and floral plantings which create a sense of privacy and an opportunity to enjoy nature. This was a 5-Star experience for us!

This place was spotless! I’ve cleaned vacation retells for ten years and I was very impressed! Sandra and her husband are also the sweetest people they even let us use their paddle board! This place is beautiful, like breathtaking literally.

Girls Weekend

. We enjoyed the used of their kayaks and paddle board, and the garage apartment was perfect. It was clean, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was huge! The grocery store is close by, we did some shopping in the towns nearby and had a wonderful time!

Excellent Experience

My family and I had an great stay. Everything was as advertised. The private beach and beachfront area was spectacular. We had so much fun with the kayaks and paddle board. The apartment is warm and invited and decorated like a lived in space and not like a hotel. This property is in a very quiet area away from anything touristy. We would stay again!

Amazing Property!

Our stay here was fantastic! The rental was extremely clean and well appointed. We had everything we needed our entire stay. The beach and dock area are great! Our two boys enjoyed many hours there fishing, swimming and paddle boarding. Sandra and Rex were great hosts, and checked on us to make sure everything was as expected. I would highly recommend this rental and look forward to returning in the future.

Great vacation place

We stayed at Sandra's place at end of June. We liked the sandy beach on the property, which is quite unique. Kids loved it, and we stayed a lot of time in the water and on the beach. The location is fairly quiet, far from the touristy places like Huntersville. This is great for lower water traffic if you rent a boat from the nearby marina. The owners are very nice people. Will definitely recommend.

Fun Family Getaway

We had an amazing stay! Our hosts were the definition of Hospitable. The apartment was so clean and had everything we could possibly need. And the Beach and Boat Dock made for hours of water fun. Swimming, kayaking, Paddle boarding and some great fishing. We enjoyed our time by the fire pit making s'mores and talking. This was the getaway we needed and the accomodations met all our needs and then some. Great affordable getaway.

Awesome vacation!!!

Sandra was an amazing host. We stayed in the garage apartment and it was perfect for out family. The apartment was probably the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in. She always replied promptly when I had a question for her and even brought us a blender when I asked if she had one in the other apartment. The beach area was really nice and the kids had fun diving off her dock. The kayaks were a great addition too. Thanks Sandra for making it so enjoyable.

Best of all time!

We had an amazing stay at Sandra and Rex’s beautifully maintained property. We stayed in the apartment over the garage. It was one of the cleanest rentals we’ve ever stayed in! It was also very homey and comfortable. The kitchen was perfect too, fully stocked for all our cooking needs! There are quite a few steps to get up to the apartment but we didn’t mind it! This property is a MUST if you have young kids. Our girls brought their snorkels and when we weren’t on the boat or jet ski we were all enjoying the lovely private beach, which was a huge plus! The floating dock was great and had ample space to put a 12 person tritoon on one side and jet ski on the other side. The first day of our arrival the kids were already asking if we could come back. Can’t wait to book our next stay!

Home Away From Home

The perfect place to feel relaxed on vacation with majestic views of the lake. A private, fully equipped home with a private entrance. Plenty of space to stretch out and relax. Piece of paradise!

Rex has lived here for 35 plus years. We've been married for 25 years and have enjoyed living here at Private Point all these years. We have made many renovations over the years which I'm sure you will enjoy! Rex grew up in Yadkinville, NC and Sandra grew up in Hiddenite, NC. We enjoy meeting new people plus we love to travel ourselves!

Why they chose this property

It is beautiful, peaceful and secluded here. We have our own private beach which is definitely a plus if you have children. Lots of guests also enjoy our fire pit area at night. It's the perfect place to make s'mores and reminisce about the fun times. Most guests are not ready to leave when it's time to pack up and go. However; the majority of our guests are repeat customers. We built the garage apartment in 2012.

What makes this property unique

Absolutely gorgeous lake views, summer breezes and seclusion make this the perfect retreat. Our neighborhood is great for walking or riding bikes. Our house is situated at the end of a dead end street making it a quiet place to relax.
