My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Melville. It was the perfect location for us to easily travel to visit all of our family living in Long Island. Jonathan was very helpful with answering all of our questions about everything we needed to know - from finding the best grocery stores to working the TV. The house was exactly what we needed for our family's comfort. We never did get to enjoy the pool-we were on the go too much!

The host was excellent to communicate with throughout our stay. He was very responsive, helpful, and quick to address questions whenever we reached out. The property itself also has a lot going for it, particularly the pool and the overall amount of space, which our family enjoyed.Our main concern was the amount of personal belongings left throughout the home. There was considerable clutter, along with some personal items that we did not feel were appropriate to have accessible in a family vacation rental. We were travelling with our children, ages 3 and 5, so we would have preferred the home to have been more thoroughly prepared and cleared for guests.We also felt the five-bedroom description could have been clearer. Two of the rooms were quite different from what we expected from traditional bedrooms, including one that appeared to also function as a salon. Usable storage was limited in some areas as well.Overall, we enjoyed aspects of our stay, particularly the pool, and we genuinely appreciated how responsive and accommodating the host was. The house has a lot of potential. With fewer personal belongings left in guest areas and some additional clarity around the bedroom configuration, the experience would be significantly improved, particularly for families.

Thank you for staying with us. This review is retaliatory and untrue. We want to share some context for future guests. This review was posted after we addressed repeated violations of our clearly stated house rules regarding parties and gatherings. Despite our efforts to be accommodating and handle the situation respectfully, you were unhappy that we asked you to follow the rules, and continued to throw parties. The claims regarding the home are also inaccurate. The five bedrooms are all actual bedrooms (with beds, storage, and everything else you would find in a normal bedroom) and are accurately represented in the listing photographs. As clearly disclosed in our conversations, this is our personal home, but all personal belongings were put away prior to your arrival. The home was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for your stay, and we do not agree with the characterization of the property as cluttered. We are glad you enjoyed the pool and the space, and we appreciate your kind comments regarding our responsiveness as hosts.

Jonathan and Doug have an incredible home! My family stayed there during my wedding weekend, and it was fun for the whole gang - the older kids enjoyed the pool, and the younger kids enjoyed the beautiful playroom and books. My husband and I put together a list of Long Island activities for my family to do while visiting, and instead they just stayed at the house the whole time!!!We are so grateful to them for opening their home. Their style and decor adds to the loveliness of the stay. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone.
