About the host

Hi, I’m Linda — for ten wonderful years, Storybook Cottage was my home.

Tucked among the trees and just a short stroll to the beach, it was where I gardened, visited with neighbors, and spent precious time with my grandchildren. We watched deer from the porch, walked the beach in every season, and shared laughter around the table.

I’ve since moved to be closer to family, but this little cottage still holds a piece of my heart. My children now lovingly care for it, preserving its charm while adding thoughtful modern and antique touches for guests to enjoy.

Being a host brings me so much joy — especially hearing from families who are making their own treasured memories here. It’s a magical place, and I’m grateful to share it with others. I hope Storybook Cottage feels as warm and welcoming to you as it always did to me.

Why they chose this property

We chose Wecoma Beach because it truly offers the best of the Oregon Coast — peaceful, walkable, and surrounded by natural beauty. From Storybook Cottage, you can stroll to the beach in just a few minutes without ever getting in a car. Whether you're heading out for a morning walk on the sand, grabbing a coffee, picking up groceries, or heading to a casual dinner, everything you need is nearby and easily accessible on foot.

One of the things I’ve always loved most is how the neighborhood feels tucked into nature. Coastal fir trees sway overhead, and if you listen closely, you’ll hear the crows chatting and the osprey calling from their nests. Deer are frequent visitors, and the sea breeze carries the scent of salt and pine.

The neighbors here are a lovely mix of retirees and families — warm, welcoming, and easy to strike up a conversation with. It’s a safe, quiet place (a sheriff deputy lives on our block) where people look out for each other, but it never feels overly busy or crowded. The pace is just right.

What makes this property unique

What makes Storybook Cottage stand out is how truly one-of-a-kind it is. This home was originally built as a replica of an English beach cottage, and stepping inside feels like walking into a fairy tale. With its turret, arched doorways, and custom-built latches and doors inspired by historical craftsmanship, every detail has a sense of timeless charm and character you won’t find in modern construction.

From the rounded front porch to the curved interior lines, the architecture is full of personality — cozy, elegant, and designed with care. It’s not just a vacation rental; it’s a place that tells a story.

The setting only adds to the magic. Tucked beside a sandstone knoll and bordered by an open timbered lot, the cottage feels incredibly private and peaceful, even though it’s part of a friendly, walkable neighborhood. Nearly every window looks out onto trees, sky, or green space — so whether you’re in the kitchen, the living room, or one of the bedrooms, you feel connected to nature.

It’s rare to find a home that offers this much charm, privacy, and beauty while still being just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Storybook Cottage is a place where families come to slow down, connect, and feel a little magic. It’s always been more than a house — it’s a retreat with a soul.
