5K SF Luxury Retreat Near PDX - Chef's KitchenAn Unforgettable Luxury Stay! Our stay at this property was absolutely incredible—it truly exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how beautiful and luxurious the house is.The professional-grade Chef's Kitchen was a dream and made cooking an absolute pleasure. After a day of exploring, the sauna and the massive theater room were the perfect places to relax and have fun. The beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever slept in, ensuring everyone got a great night's rest. We also loved spending time on the balcony, enjoying the beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. The location is also perfect—it offers a private, retreat-like feel while still being close enough for easy travel to downtown Portland and surrounding attractions. The amenities here are top-tier, and the home couldn't have been better. We loved this property and can't recommend it highly enough. We're already planning our return!

About the host
Hosted by Kendra Lampert
We're a local Happy Valley couple — my wife runs the day-to-day hosting, and I help behind the scenes. We bought this place in 2015 and raised our kids here, so every room in the house has a memory attached to it. Birthdays at the firepit, movie marathons in the theater, summer nights on the balcony watching the deer come through.
Our kids are older now and the house is bigger than we need most weeks, so we open it up to guests we hope will enjoy it the way we have. We answer messages quickly, we keep the place professionally cleaned to a high standard, and we genuinely want your stay to be the kind you'll remember.
If something comes up during your stay, just ask. We're nearby.
Why they chose this property
Honestly? We didn't pick the neighborhood — the house picked us. We came to look at it once and never seriously considered anywhere else.
What kept us here for over a decade is the rare combination of forest privacy and city access. You're at the end of a quiet road backed by trees, but you're 15 minutes from PDX, a short drive from Clackamas Town Center and Costco, and walking distance to a real park with trails, a dog park, and free summer concerts. Eagle's Landing Golf Course is just blocks away.
Most weeks we never really had to leave the house — and when we did, everything we needed was close. That balance is hard to find this near Portland, and it's the thing we'd miss most if we ever left.
What makes this property unique
A few things, honestly.
First, the setting. 5,000 square feet on a forested lot at the end of a quiet road, three stories with stonework and wrought iron, an 8-foot French entry door, Brazilian cherry floors with custom inlays, travertine entry, crystal chandeliers, and wood shutters throughout. It feels like a real home, not a rental.
Second, the layout. Two family rooms, a formal dining room, a breakfast nook, a chef's kitchen with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, an executive office, and four bedrooms across multiple levels. Large groups can be together when they want to be and disappear when they don't.
Third, the things you don't expect. A private theater with seven recliners and a Denon sound system. A game room with a Golden West full-size pool table. A private cedar sauna. A primary suite balcony with a top-floor view. A covered greenhouse for rainy Portland afternoons. A waterfall and pond on the grounds.
We've stayed in a lot of rentals over the years and the thing that always disappointed us was the gap between the photos and the feel. This house closes that gap.
