Snow White's Sea View over the 5 Lands

The apartment is located in the Santuary town of San Bernardino. It is part of the community of Vernazza and is a 10 minute drive to Vernazza. It is just above Vernazza and Corniglia, with views of Corniglia and Manarola. This quite village has trails leading to all the Cinque Terre villages.
The apartment is a one bedroom with a new kitchen installed in 2024 and bathroom. There is a balcony with sea views and a private terrace . This apartment is perfect for two people. I am only a few steps from the main parking and bus stop.
To arrive , take the road to Vernazza/Corniglia and at the fork turn left to Corniglia (not Vernazza) and you are there. There is free parking or a shuttle to take you to Vernazza. Last shuttle is at 19:00 from Vernazza from June. Check-in is in from 2pm-7pm. Cinque Terre now has the Sojourn tax (city tax) at €1,00 a day per person for the first 3 days.

We enjoyed our stay. San Bernardino is peaceful and calm. Paulo and Julia are good people. They helped us with a medical issue where we needed to a doctor. Thank you grazie. We would stay again.

Perfect view from a tiny town

We've had a perfect stay in the apartment. The view was amazing,the apartment was cleaned and fully equipped. If you are around here it is highly recommended to book here :))

Beautiful view of the Italian coast

Nice place, but a bit remote. One needs to plan carefully coming and going, but it gives a respite from the hundreds of tourist looking to take the same pictures they’ve seen on social media!

Breath-taking View from the windows of the room. Clean room and stocked with most everything. Comfortable bed. WiFi did not work. Parking is limited if arriving late evening by car. Bus stops 50 Meters from the room door.

Spectacular View

Julia and Paolo are exceptional hosts. The property is clean and has wonderful views. Julia has thought of everything her guests may need for a pleasant stay. The property is high in the hills of San Bernadino, so accessibility is not easy but doable. Lovely property!

Fantastic apartment with magnificent view over Cinque Terre

We had a great stay in San Bernardino. The apartment was clean and well equipped. The view to Corniglia was magnificent. Great walks to Vernazza and Corniglia. The apartment is not accessible for disabled guests. The apartment is absolutely recommendable for a short stay in Cinque Terre.

Perfect!

We loved Julia & Paolo’s place, it is very charming. Apart from the extraordinarily beautiful view, the place offered a very relaxed way to experience the Cinque Terre. There were so many thoughtful things that made the stay more pleasant, like the washing machine, the fact she has some basic food in case you arrive late and want to cook for yourself, the coffee machine etc. It was also lovely to visit their restaurant in Vernazza and see a concert with Julia singing with her band! Parking is a very short walk away too. We enjoyed the liveliness of Vernazza and the relaxedness of Corniglia. Highly recommend!

Perfect Retreat

A beautiful and quiet place to stay with stunning views right from the windows. The shuttle bus took us into vernazza each morning and brought us back early each evening (taxi available after approx 7 pm if you miss the last shuttle). Julia was very responsive to communications. We had a lovely few days exploring the area. A perfect place to come back to for a restful retreat!!

A magnificent view for a wonderful stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. Getting to the rental is not for the faint of heart. It's going to take a hike or a drive - none of which are impossible, but do take a bit of planning. But once you're there, everything is fantastic. You get a nice breeze through the windows and the view is out of this world!

A wonderful place to get away

This is a precious spot with an unrivaled view. The hosts are so thoughtful. It's an easy bus ride back and forth to Vernazza. Or you can walk down to Corniglia or Vernazza by road or trail. I loved the quiet beauty and the gracious hospitality. Thanks Paolo and Julia!

The view was breathtaking! It looked like a picture every time we opened the windows. Julia and Paulo were the best hosts. They really took care of us and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. They also run a restaurant that has the best tiramisu you have ever tasted. Our only note from the stay is that you probably will want to have your own mode of transportation. Otherwise, you will have to plan your day around the bus schedule. And that if it rains, the bus might not run. We got ourselves in a pickle a few times because of this. Other than that, it was everything we had hoped for and more. You can not go wrong staying here!

As mentioned before - stunning wiew from the house and the terrace. Very nice hosts, they drove us from Vernazza to our house at arrival.A good place for those who wants to explore the nature by foot.There are three buses every day that takes you to Vernazza or Corniglia.Make sure to do your grocery shopping before you go to the house, there are no cafes or shops in San Bernardino.Overall: a quiet and beautiful place where you can relax and you never get tired of the amazing wiew.Thank you Paolo and Julia!

The views and hikes of Cinque Terre are amazing. However, I would avoid staying in San Bernardino for future travelers. There is limited public transportation to the town especially after 7pm. We were stuck having to either wait for a 10:45pm bus or having to hike up the hill in the pitch black. Also, the communication of the host while we were staying at their property was subpar. Would recommend looking into other areas to stay at while visiting Cinque Terre.

Beautiful little apartment with flair

The apartment is fresh renovated with a new kitchen. The area is really nice and peaceful, we loved our stay there. We had some problems with the wifi but the owner fixed the problem really fast :) All was clean and we had a good communication with the owner. We would come again!

Cute place, great host

The view from the kitchen window and balcony is beautiful! Really make sure you do your research before staying here. If you don’t have a car, plan on either getting back early (sometimes shuttle stops at 16:45), or hiking an hour in the dark up a mountain. We arrived after the last shuttle left, the host was gracious enough to drive us up after dinner.

most beautiful view

I have never spent so much time looking out a window. Day and night, the most beautiful view in the world. Julia and Paulo were great and their menu at the restaurant was delicious. Quiet, relaxing and only a moment away from the massive crowds and gelato. Two month vacation and I'm going to bet this is the highlight. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Stunning views of the sea

The apartment is located on a steep hill. Be prepared to drive to the towns of the CT and park early in the morning. The apartment has absolutely stunning views and was comfortable enough. The locals and hosts are very welcoming. In order to get wifi, one must walk to the local bar-not a big deal for us but that wasn't clear.

Wow what a spot!

We enjoyed our time here, gorgeous scenery, close to Cinque Terra. Could have had better instruction regarding WiFi (none), using oven (can't), bar closed. No supplies in San Bernardo at all, so be prepared to bring what you want up. But the view and ocean breeze was second to none!!!!

A view that pictures or words can’t describe. Beautiful and peaceful. Went here for our anniversary and the owners were extremely kind and welcoming. They offered us a glass of wine at their restaurant where the food is delicious, and even gave us a ride up to the home after our dinner. Be aware that the property is away from Vernazza by about two miles, so you will need to take supplies up when you arrive. You must follow the bus schedule as the last bus leaves from Vernazza to the home at 7:10, or you will have to pay for a taxi that cost about €25. Great stay, great location, great hosts. Would do it again

Very disappointed

This is a lovely apartment in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, I used the oven to warm a piece of focaccia and the power went out. I was without power or any communication from the owner for 24 hours despite multiple attempts to contact Julie and her husband. She refunded one day of rent but as I told her, “ I spent a lot of money to come here and I lost a full day of my vacation.” Three cold showers and the washer didn’t work properly. Beautiful place but not a good experience.

Insgesamt in Ordnung. Die Wohnung war bisauf die verschimmelte Dusche sehr sauber. Der Ausblick aus der Wohnung war außergewöhnlich schön! Die Lage ist auch mäßig, da man in die jeweiligen Städte der Cinque Terre min. 30 Min einplanen muss, da die Wohnung sehr abgelegen ist. Auch bis zum nächsten Supermarkt muss man ca. 30 Min. einplanen.

Loin de l'agitation de Vernazza .une vue à couper le souffle. Un sejour reposant. Logement tres propre . Communication facile avec l'hôte. Nous avons passé un sejour tres agréable. Tres bien situé pour visiter les villages alentours avec Corniglia notre preferé. (Plus authentique que Vernazza).

Hello I'm Julia from California. I've been in Vernazza now for 18 years. Paolo Basso is my husband and he was born and raised in Vernazza. San Bernardino is his father's family home. We have a restaurant in Vernazza, Taverna del Capitano. We are always around and easy to find, for whatever your needs might be. Everyone at the restaurant speaks English.

This is a perfect property for someone who wants to live the Italian lifestyle. You have a kitchen for making creative dishes and a beautiful view for enjoying a glass of wine after a long days walk on the Cinque Terre trails.
This is property is for someone who likes to live in the nature of the National Park. I have put in a new queen size mattress 200cm long for 2018.

What makes this property unique

This is a quite place in an amazing position. The views are breathtaking. I have equipped the apartment with herbs, olive oil , aceto and coffee and sugar for your first days needs. I want you to make your self at home. The apartments position is in the heart of the National Park. It is as 20 to 30 minute walk to the sea. But you will wake up to the fresh air and breeze of the pine trees.
