The property backs directly onto the extensive Cranberry Trail system, offering year-round non-motorized recreation right from the backyard: hiking, wildlife viewing, and peaceful forest walks.

Located in the hills north of Goldstream Valley, Birch Perch enjoys slightly warmer temperatures during winter—a welcome perk for aurora watchers!

Inside, the home is thoughtfully designed with three cozy levels and everything you need to feel at home. Curl up by the wood-burning stove, sip coffee while you watch chickadees at the feeder, flip through books by Alaskan authors, unwind with vintage records…or head to the basement for movie night and classic Nintendo fun.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Feel free to leave behind any food or other items you aren't using anymore. We run a downtown soup kitchen and will pass on your items to Fairbanks folks in need.
Please make sure all windows and doors are closed, especially in the winter! Do not turn OFF the heat.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
The house has two spiral staircases to move between floors. They can be challenging for people with mobility issues.
Please enjoy the surrounding trails but stay on existing trails and respect no trespassing signs. Some neighbors get grumpy with folks on their land.
All stays to be less than 30-days.
