About the host
Hosted by Brittany Stevenson

Welcome to Mitchell!
We are the new owners of this beautiful home. Whether you’ve stayed here before or are new explores to the area – we are thrilled to have you stay in our house. The town of Mitchell is a fun, quirky place to explore and we are lucky enough to live just a few minutes outside of town. A little about ourselves:
Shane grew up Idaho, farming and ranching alongside his grandfather. After going to college at Oregon State University, Shane traveled to New Zealand to work on ranches (or stations), to learn different techniques and become better at land management. In 2020, he took over a management position at a local ranch in Mitchell, leaving Idaho behind and becoming an Oregonian. After moving to the ranch Shane reached out to a beekeeper in Walla Walla, wanting to bring more diversity to the ranch. Well, Shane met with a beekeeper to place bees on the ranch and a few years later is now married to that beekeeper. That brings us to Brittany.
Brittany is from the Northern California area. Around 2010, she took a job at beekeeping operation. During the first ten years Brittany was able to travel to New Zealand, Australia and Chile to tend to bees. Now, Brittany owns and manages 600 of her own hives right here in Wheeler County. If you are driving around keep an eye out for purple bee hives – those are Brittany’s bees. We have had a wonderful honey crop this year and would love to offer a jar of our delicious honey. If you don’t like honey, no worries, take it for a friend or leave it for the next person.
Mitchell is a wonderful place to live and explore. We hope you enjoy spending time here as much as we do! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
