Ocean's Gem is exactly that - a pristine house with a pristine view of the ocean thru huge windows that make you feel like you are outside every minute of your stay.
Ocean’s Gem at Palmetto Dunes Beach Resort is breathtaking. (The views are what you dream of when you dream of the ideal destination vacation. ) The sparkling Atlantic is right outside your door & you have private access to the white sands beach. The entire ocean-facing wall is widow after window – all of them Anderson Coastal windows, tinted so that you don’t get to much heat from the sun, & don’t have to close allthe blinds in the evening to protect the Loggerhead turtles on the beach. Sunrise is spectacular from most rooms in the house. 3 of the 5 bedrooms (all with private baths) have ocean-facing balconies or decks & the other two bedrooms have seats with ocean views.

THE BEACH IS IN YOUR BACKYARD – SUNRISE IS GLORIOUS
The backyard is an oasis. The grassy area just this side of the beach is ideal for playing bocce or badminton, & a large travertine patio faces the ocean. The pool (37’ x 12’ feet) is gorgeous, with infinity edge & integrated spa, enclosed by freestanding glass fencing. The patio is lit by LED lights for enjoyment at night without bothering the loggerhead turtles. Ocean’s Gem has an outdoor kitchen complete with a bar, & sink, a great Delta Heat grill, bar seating for 5 and table and chairs for six.
There are poolside chaise for your comfort, & a table & chairs too. The patio is it for evening use. The beach is so close that you can wander there in less than a minute, using your private beach access. The small dunes off the back of the lawn are a nesting place for the loggerhead turtles. There is a shower & foot shower on your return from the beach to help avoid bringing sand into your living area and there is a place by the dune to hang your hammock.
We just completed a major landscaping overhaul, cutting down years of accumulated bushes & debris that was blocking the ocean views & trees that were making the house too dark. The views are now largely unimpeded & truly breathtaking.

PREFER TO WATCH THE SUNSET?
The other side of the house has an Italianate patio complete with grapevine-covered pergola, arches & columns & a beautiful terrazzo floor. This large patio is in the shade during the day & is an idyllic place to sit & read or just watch the sun go down. We added a table & four chairs & two chaises for your enjoyment

THE KITCHEN
The gourmet kitchen is loaded with every convenience. The new double ovens make cooking for a large crowd a breeze. The new Wolf stove is a 5 burner with ultra low simmer (read the instructions please). There is a large new Subzero fridge, a wine fridge, a new full size fridge downstairs & sub zero beverage fridge upstairs. There are ice makers in the freezers as well as a freestanding under-counter ice maker. We have just replaced all the cutlery & pots & pans (with Al Clad Emeril series cookware). I’ve added a turkey roaster, lemon & lime crushers & numerous other kitchen gadgets since I plan to live here 4 months every year. There is lots of cupboard space with an additional new double pantry for guests down the hall to the new laundry room (featuring a Jentle Jet ‘Delicates’ sink). We also feature a stocked Martha Stewart wrapping station for you convenience. The kitchen bar seats 4.

THE BEDROOMS:
The newly remodeled Starfish Master bedroom (sleeps 2) is almost decadent. With a private double couch on covered deck facing the ocean, a gas fireplace facing the king sized bed (fee) & a bathroom designed for your every enjoyment . The ‘Roman’ bath has a Jacuzzi tub, a walk in shower (redone 2024) with glass wall, a separate commode (comfort height soft close toilet seat) & bidet, two closets, safe, double sinks, vanity seating area & lots of lights & mirrors. We have installed a dual control sleep number type king bed in this room for your enjoyment.
In the off season you can choose to pay for 4 (sleep 10) or 5 BDR (sleep 14) depending on your group’s size & what time of year it is. An upstairs bar with fridge in the balcony services the 4 upstairs bedrooms.
The Aqua Palm Ocean Facing King (sleeps two) has an ocean-facing balcony with double chaise & spectacular ocean view. There is a new 42” flat screen TV. The private bath has double sinks, a large walk in shower & bathtub combo & a separate commode. There is a chair with ottoman & reading lamp for a quiet get away spot with a great view.
There is a SeaShell Queen (sleeps two) ocean facing bedroom identical to the Palm bedroom with large ocean facing balcony with double chaise, glass panels to enhance your view, double chaise on the deck. The room has a large private bath with a vanity where you can sit. There is a 50” flat screen television, a large closet & a chair & ottoman with lamp so that you can read while enjoying the view of the ocean. Whether you want to just enjoy the cool visual hues of the electric fireplace or add the heat option on a cold night, the fireplace makes this room a beautiful get away.
The Coral (Double Queen sleeps 4) Bedroom has 2 queen beds & a large private bath with a shower/tub combo. Elevated windows provide lots of natural light in both the bedroom & the bath. There is an bump out window w/2chairs & narrow ocean view.
The Turtle Bedroom, another double queen bedroom (sleeps 4) (1 queen, 1 Murphy queen bed) and private bath with walk in shower. The Murphy bed can be hidden if you prefer. There is an extended window seat with ocean view.

THE LIVING SPACE
The breakfast nook feels like it is outside. Surrounded by tall windows on 3 sides it is a sunny morning place to enjoy your coffee. It features a large round glass that seats six, & has a transparent base that lights up at night.
The Family room is an open configuration with new large comfortable chairs & couches to enhance your comfort. The TV is an electronic marvel featured on Houzz, with a track so it can slide to the location you prefer, & then swivels 360 degrees for superb viewing from any room. DVR, upgraded to premium TV channels & Apple Tv, On Demand (purchases to be billed to your credit card once we receive the Time Warner Cable bill). There is free high speed Internet.
The Living room is wall-to-wall tall ocean facing windows. It’s all sun, sky & sand that stretch out before you in an uninterrupted panorama. Even the fireplace has a glass flue so that nothing impedes the view. There is a high-end stereo with remote controls & a large CD library.
The Dining Room features an exquisite glass table supported by seashell-encrusted bases. Handmade & yet fully protected, it is an Oceanside masterpiece of a 10' x 4' glass table seating 14. There is a buffet full of all those things you might need to serve a special dinner: crystal glassware, designer plates, silver candelabra & limoncello glasses.

New LAUNDRIES & GARAGE. FREE SHUTTLE
Hidden in a back corner so that you don’t have to listen to the washer & dryer is a new large laundry with in wall ironing board, and a Jentle Jet Delicates Washing tub
There is a new guest pantry with pull out shelves, a stepladder, space for bulky paper towels etc. In the new guest coat closet you will find umbrellas & the new vacuum. There is a guest bath on the main floor.
You can park 2 cars in the new garage, & we moved all of the garbage/recycle bins to a new garbage room with separate access for the garbage guys to use. Palmetto Dunes limits you to 6 car passes.
