Located within 2 miles of the village of Fife Lake, this superb house offers 3 bedrooms - 1 queen bed and 2 full beds. With 2 bathrooms equipped with all the typical ammenities, a bathtub and seperate 2 person shower, guests will feel right at home. The living areas are comfortably furnished with a large sectional sofa and arm chairs in the main living room which looks out into mature pine forest. The seperate e tertsin.ent room has a large leather sofa and additional upholstered arm chairshas with a large flatscreen smart TV and stereo unit. A breakfast nook with wrap around windows offers a relaxing cozy start to everyday unless the weather favors the use of the large elevated deck which is accessible from the doorway of the dining room. A large country style trestle table which seats eight comfortably is immediately next to the large well equiped and stocked kitchen. The property provides unspoiled vistas and miles of private hiking, bird watching, x-country skiing and sunbathing provides tranquility, solitude yet with easy access to traverse city, canoeing, fly fishing and casinos for any range of interests for a relaxing stay. Michigan native having recently returned for retirement from living abroad. I love my Fife Lake vacation home for its privacy, tranquil unspoiled setting and that this, my families heritage farmstead, consisting of 150 acres, has been entrusted to me. It is a great pleasure being able to share this very special home with you as my guests exclusively through VRBO !
Why they chose this property
My maternal grandparents purchased the property during the great depression. Their home in Eaton Rapids had been foreclosed when Oldsmobile had shuttered operations which left no income for my grandparents. They packed their 3 children and all they could fit into their 1926 Chevrolet and moved to this property having purchased it with the last $700 they had.
My mother had house constructed in 2002 adjacent to the orchard her father had established. Her childhood home yet exists as part of the property which is leased out privaty. The majority of the property is participating in the State Reforestation Program. Harvesting select timber occurs periodically in a managed manner which promotes diversity of vegetation, habitats for animals and birds and supports commercial enterprises in the wood products and logging sector locally in Northern Michigan.
