About this property

Peace and Serenity in Montana~With A Beautiful View!

The home has 4 bedroom 3 bath plus King Master suite on the lower level. The loft bedroom has a queen size bed. If you want to get away from it all but still go into town for dinner or to catch a movie this is the perfect get away. The cabin is 18 miles from Downtown Whitefish. We are 7 miles from Tally Lake where you can launch a boat or swim in the lake. You feel like you are a world away from everyone. Relax and watch wildlife on the property, venture out into the nearby National Forest or just relax on the deck! This is the Montana Log Cabin in the Woods you have dreamed about! We are 20 miles from the ski resort. During the winter we could have a decent amount of snow at the cabin so a four wheel drive vehicle is needed

We are in a beautiful location you will truly enjoy! Please be advised it is a non-smoking property. NO smoking of any kind is allowed on the premises. We are only taking week long rentals for summer of 2024.

Great cabin in the woods!
Our family (2 adults, 2 kids ages 10 and 12) shared this great cabin for a week in July 2015. It is everything you are looking for in a quiet, secluded getaway but close to all the conveniences of town. Whitefish was only about 25 minutes away, a great place to explore, shop and eat. We explored The great views and scenery on the Going to the Sun road in Glacier National Park. We climbed to the top of Big Mountain in Whitefish and rode the ski lift down the mountain. We also explored to the beaches and cliffs of the local Tally Lake. The cabin was well appointed with a great open floor plan and loft. The boys loved the loft! Tons of family friendly DVDs for that one rainy afternoon that you just don't feel like going out in, so you can just enjoy the cabin and it's surroundings. Deer and curious chipmunks visited everyday. These are the only neighbors you have to worry about!

Great Vacation Rental!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The location was very private and scenic, but close enough to Whitefish. The cabin was clean and the furnishings were great.

log cabin in the woods
A beautiful property & a wonderful place to enjoy the serenity & beauty of Montana. The back deck was a perfect place to look out & watch for deer, enjoy a meal, or read a book. Very relaxing with everything you need to cook, etc. If we are back in the Whitefish area again, we will definitely be back!

Excellent!
My wife and I just stayed at The Log Cabin in the Woods along with our best friends. We left 8/28/2014 but all wished we could have stayed longer! The cabin was exactly as shown on the listing. Very clean and had everything we needed to prepare meals. Very quite which is just what we wanted. Still, only a short drive to Whitefish. About 40 minutes to the airport. Thanks Carren for being so helpful. Would recommend the cabin to family/friends for sure!

Wedding Week
We stayed at the Log Cabin in the Woods the week of our son's wedding. It was wonderful to have a place outside of town to have family get togethers and to just relax. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. We enjoyed watching the deer every night as they came into the yard to enjoy the grain we put out. With Whitefish and Big Mountain only a short drive away we were also able to go enjoy some activities in town. Next time we vacation in Whitefish we will definitely consider staying here again.

Sweet little cabin!
Wonderful cabin in secluded but accessible area (but would probably need 4WD in winter months), but very accessible in general. Great for a quiet setting away from tourist areas. Cabin has everything you need, really a nice little house; efficient, clean, beautiful. Lovely upstairs loft w/bathroom, downstairs extra bed and washer/dryer. Beautiful leather sofas, lovely furnishings. Great patio and huge cabin windows for watching deer; so great for barbecues! Commutes to Glacier National Park West entrance in a little over an hour, so get unlimited mileage if renting a car. No WiFi, but that's easy to pick up in town of Whitefish, 20 minutes away. Owners very nice and accommodating, answer all questions quickly. Nice location for extended stay as well. This was a lovely stay!

Perfect for our Honeymoon!
This cabin and location were absolutely perfect for our June honeymoon. The cabin is comfortable and beautiful, we enjoyed the seclusion, and we saw mule deer and other wildlife every single day from the patio! We particularly enjoyed the breathtaking view that greeted us each morning. It is an easy distance from Glacier National Park and from the Canadian border, without having to stay in a more crowded town. The cabin is both secluded (we did not get phone reception, and no internet, which was a nice change of pace) and a short drive from groceries and restaurants in Whitefish. The owner is very considerate, and had coffee and firewood ready for us when we arrived, along with dining recommendations. We would definitely recommend this cabin for a romantic getaway or for a family vacation!

What a GEM!!
This sweet little gem was a piece of heaven. It was so private and cozy. We travelled with my parents and two young children and we loved the property, the house, everything. The home was spacious, very comfortable sleeping and lots of space for everyone.

Beautiful Retreat In The Woods
My wife and I stayed here for an extended period of time and really appreciated the beauty and tranquility of the house and it's location. The house is beautifully decorated, the backyard has deer that frequent it daily, and there are bike trails and Tally Lake nearby. Definitely a place to reflect on the more simple aspects of life while living in the indoor comforts at night!

Wonderful Cabin
As soon as we stepped into this cabin we had a wonderful feeling of bliss. Everything in its place and a note welcoming us to their cabin in the woods. Beautiful setting as you can see in the pictures. At times it was difficult leaving for the day to explore what the beautiful town Whitefish has to offer. Best vacation ever is what our two daughters 7 and 9 keep saying still after two weeks of being home now. So much outdoor exploring to do! This is a place you want to unplug from it all and distress by taking in all the beauty Montana has to offer! Thank you for opening up your beautiful vacation home to us. We are already setting dates for our return next year!

Our group of 4 adults had a great time! The owner left a book with many recommendation of restaurants, brochures from rafting and horseback riding places, which was extremely helpful to us! They also had a deer feeder so we could wake up every morning and watch the deer eat and play. They left us some of the basics in the cabin, coffee, etc.... And as an extra special treat, they left us a bottle of our favorite wine! The cabin was awesome! Newly built and extremely clean and roomy! There was a washer and dryer in the basement which makes packing much easier. She even had laundry detergent available! If we ever go to glacier again, we will definitely try to book this cabin again.

The best family vacation ever!
Warm and cozy is an understatement for this cabin. It's beautifully designed and welcomes you right in. It was the cherry on top for our trip! Definitely wouldn't have been that good without it. We would recommend it to anyone. Thank you so much, Kizer family, Calgary, AB

Great Get Away!!!!
My wife and I needed a trip away from the hustle and bustle; we found it! This home has it all, far enough but not to far- Peace and quiet yet a short scenic drive to Downtown Whitefish. Will support two couples with kids or large family w two separate living areas. Kitchen large enough to support party or quiet dinners at home. Walk from the open living rm onto the spacious deck; with your glass of wine in hand, enjoy the abundant wildlife strolling through the yard, or view the picturesque mountain ranges. From the home enjoying touring many Ranch type properties and lakes in the local area.

We love Montana! Chuck graduated from Stanford so we are big Stanford Football Fans. We are the most rested and happy when we are our at Log Cabin in the Woods!

Why they chose this property

We spent two solid years looking for a house in the area traveling here many times to look at properties. We wanted to have a very private home so that we did not have neighbors house we could see close by the home we also wanted to be near a National Forest area. We wanted to be able to go into town for dinners or shopping easily. (There are homes near but not clearly visable from the house) Since we are 18 miles to town we can go in anytime but feel very relaxed at the house with no worries!

What makes this property unique

The view of the mountains from our deck is amazing. You will just want to sit out there all day and look at the beauty. When we found the log cabin in the woods we knew this was the home we had been searching for. Come and relax and forget all your troubles. Please call me when wanting to book. I require a phone call please.
