We stayed at the cabin mostly just for nights to have a peaceful night sleep with the kids. We were in MI for a small reunion at the family hunting camp. The cabin was perfect for chill time and relaxing looking out at the snow covered trees.
We were in town for a wedding and this cottage was perfect for our stay! The cottage was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the kayaks and sitting around the fire at night. If you are looking to unplug and want a quiet, peaceful place on the river, this is your place!
Our family had a great time. It was a peaceful location, the kids had fun on the kayaks, and there was a lot of space for our dog to run. We couldn't have asked for a better place. It was clean, comfortable, and we had great communication with Tammy!
Have stayed here many times . Close to many attractions but my favorite is the fishing ..caught 4 pike, many perch, and small mouth bass last week my parents really enjoyed the trip definitely will stay again
Awesome Cabin, amazing location, perfect fishing trip! Overall exceeded expectations!Spacious outdoors environment and access to Thunder Bay River was very scenic. Sunken Lake is plentiful with all kinds of fish.: smallmouth, largemouth, pike, perch, and pan fish. Very thankful for this opportunity.
The house and property was very clean & peaceful. We explored the area most of the daytime hours and sat by the fire at night. It's within 30 minutes of several beautiful beaches, light houses and waterfall. The kids also enjoyed fishing and kayaking in the river.
Lovely, quiet area for a peaceful stay. The home was everything the listing stated. Beds were comfortable, linens plentiful, and the home was spotless. The lack of wi-fi was more than we bargained for, but that’s our own lack of imagination, I suppose. We would love to return to this gem of a property.
Nice & quiet. Path to water, swing to see beautiful view. We Loved our stay. Thank You. Very quick response time. Wedding venue 2 min away. Convenient.
Beautiful, quiet, peaceful. Close enough to Alpena that you can experience some of what a city has to offer, far enough away that you have peace and quiet. The kayaks got put to use on the river and everything that we could need had been thought of. Plenty of dishes to use. Plenty of chairs to sit by the fire. Plenty of firewood to burn. Check-in was stress-free. We met the host for a quick tour and they were available via text if we had any need. Cell reception in the area was spotty, but that's not always a bad thing. A great opportunity to leave work at work!
The cottage was very clean and well stocked with anything you might need. The setting was peaceful. Lots of living/sleeping space and it was so nice to be able to bring our dog on vacation. It was also nice to be able to cook meals, in addition to dining out. Having a washer and dryer was a plus too. We enjoyed day trips to neighboring cities and played cards and corn hole at night. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.
This was the perfect location for everything we wanted to do while up north. Made day trips to Oceqouc Falls, Mackinaw City and Seagull Point Park. The two teenage boys loved cruising around in the kayaks, even caught a large mouth bass.
The house was exactly as listed, and Tammy was great to communicate with. We did have some rain so unfortunately no campfire this time, but I’m sure there will be a next time.
Would definitely stay here again, and will also recommend it to family and friends as well.
Nice house, very clean. Enjoyed the time around the firepit, they even provided wood. Grill, deck area was nice. Nice set up on a private area down by the river. Make sure to bring your own entertainment you can't even get local tv stations on the tv. Gladly enjoyed having no cell service no phone calls or internet.
The house was super clean, comfortable and well maintained. The owners obviously put a lot of thought into making everything easy, comfy and homey for their guests. The gated porch was a wonderful place to sit outside and enjoy nature with our dogs. We saw a bald eagle, deer with fawns, and lots more wildlife. It was an easy walk to the serene river where they have provided a bench swing; a perfect place to sip coffee and watch the river while you relax in a beautiful wooded surrounding. They provided 2 kayaks and the lake is just a short paddle away down the river. It was private and quiet and located in a beautiful part of the Country where a short drive can take you to other interesting sights and towns. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway and we hope to return for an even longer stay someday.
Quiet piece of land, riverview and access. Beautiful, calm lake and very clean. Appreciated the kayaks to use, fire pit and outdoor seating. The home is very cozy and comfortable.
We rented the cabin for a fishing weekend with friends. The cabin very well stocked and super clean. The fire pit was great and having firewood included was an added bonus. We took the kayaks out on the lake. Great bass fishing for smallmouth and largemouth. We really enjoyed the privacy with this cabin. There are neighbors, but you're very secluded. A nice wooded setting on the water. Definitely would stay here again.
