IMPORTANT Note ….after clicking "request to book', we will review the request and answer questions before going any further). We will respond very promptly to all inquiries..
Note - ... a bonus ... VRBO have advsied us that they do not have to charge HST on bookings exeeding 30 consecutive nights. We only rent for 31 nights (so we are not not classed a AS A SHORT TERM RENTAL), but you actually only pay and come for the exact time that you want (one week minimum Friday to Friday) . A one week stay = $1800 (booking is 31 nights x 58.06/night). Two weeks = $2700 (booking is 31 nights x $37.10/night). If you want to stay longer than two weeks, we will offer an additional discount. This listing says $168/night but that is if you actualy want to come for at least 31 nights.
You confirm in writing that you will only be there during the week(s) that you want, and we confirm in writing that the place will not be rented during nights when you will not be there, and we also confirm that you will not be held responsible for anything that might happen when you are not there. This has worked well for us for years, because we only rent for the few summer weeks just to offset some costs.
Do not enquire unless you are in agreement to sign a 31 night contract at these crazy low prices. Perhaps you know of others who would be interested in being part of your 31 night rental? If not, it will be vacant when you are not there. Although it says 1-night minimum on this listing, there is a web site problem that does not work for us, We definitely do not rent for 1 night and we must rent for at least 31 nights. You will not be approved unless you agree to sign a 31 night contract with us. This really is an unbeatable and rare deal for a lovely place.

Small, quaint, old fashion lake cottage with lovely lake access and kayaks. John was extremly pleasant and easy to work with. One chilly night had the cottage heated only by wood burning stove. Be advised there are minimal luxeries, this is basic cottage living.
Property was as advertised. Excellent views (and sunsets). Very good swimming from dock. Owner was very good to deal with and replied promptly to any questions or concerns.
A great little place for a couple's getaway.
My only complaint is that the kitchen could be better equipped with larger pots and pans, and knives that are not chipped. And to more clearly indicate that you must bring your own seasonings (salt, pepper) etc.
Excellent as described by owner‘s description and photos. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to enjoy being off the grid. Owner responsive and cooperative.

Great access to lake, but really no other outdoor space.
Very 'rustic' cottage, but a decent place.
Not really conducive for walking or biking directly from the cottage, especially for children. Roadway can be busy.

Note: There is lots of outdoor space including a trail beside the shoreline, a rocky shoreline place to play, a hammock, a wooded area, a treehouse that children love (see pic) , and an open space beside the driveway that has been used for badminton. Everyone walks and bikes on the road all the time but it is a paved country road so not like a subdivision street so young children should be accompanied by an adult .There is an occasional vehicle but the road is a dead-end and so it is never busy.
What is really special about this place is its closeness to the water, it’s SW exposure for perfect sun and sunsets, quiet kayaking , a shaded deck right at the waters edge, and clear water for swimming.
Had a good time - cottage was right on the lake and what we were looking for. Great swimming, boating and relaxation. Big lake, but seemed like a quiet bay.

Why they chose this property
This cottage has what you really want. Does it have an enormous kitchen with an enormous granite counter, an enormous TV, and enormous price? No - if you really need those, stay home because you are not a cottage person. But if you just want to be happy...this is the place for you. What it does have is a rare close-proximity to the water, so you can fall asleep listening to the lapping of the water. Few realize the importance of directional exposure until they rent a place that has no sun all afternoon and no sunset.
