We did not expect to be living in garage space, under the stairs ,not your usual vrbo …It served the purpose of having our dogs be safe while we attended an event in San Francisco We left early. Its a tight space.

Did you not review the listing before you booked? I make no misrepresentations.
Wonderful ground level studio. Great neighborhood. Close to public transportation, and restaurants. Priscilla greeted me and gave me the tour. I will stay here again!
Fantastic location. One block from 24th street which is packed with stores and restaurants. 2 blocks from the metro station that gets you anywhere. Host was very kind and met me to explain the area and the property. Room itsself was very clean. Its an older room in a seperated section of the garage, so it still was a private room. Price was by far better than hotels/typical stays.

The amount of space was good. However, it wasn’t very clean. There was thick dust everywhere and the shower liner and shower curtain were dirty. The place was listed as having a washer/dryer, but there isn’t actually one in the apartment. There is also no TV available. It wasn’t a horrible experience, but we will not be staying there again.
The room was good but the photos are deceptive. Because the photos of the home show the whole facade of the home you might actually think you're going to get the whole home. Nope, you just get a room downstairs in the garage while she lives upstairs. There are two plusses depending on your needs. One, the host will be able to check you in verbally and the other is because of the size of the room if you stuff your car with things you can offload it into the garage (because you never want to leave things in your car when parking it).All in all the photos of the room were highly accurate.San Francisco and California have absolutely bazar laws. I understand it isn't her job to inform people of the laws but the main issue is if you have a vehicle you cannot park it in the driveway despite no indication of that in the listing. And the reason for this is parking is minimal in San Francisco. So if you own a home you park the car in the driveway. Or anywhere you can find a free space because Jersey street has free parking. (Also parking is free at night in metered places on 24th).Problem was that she expected us to already know that when booking and was kind of rude when she informed us when we parked in the driveway when we arrived. I just didn't know of the laws when booking the location. Again it's not her job but she does get defensive.Otherwise she told us 24th has grocery stores and everything you might need and she was a super sweet lady despite the issues with parking.
The location cannot not be beat-just one block off Noe Valley's charming town center, with a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, unique retail stores and a Whole Foods. Close enough to be convenient, far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Priscilla was a gracious and accommodating host throughout our stay. The rental itself has lots of charm, with soothing colors, an amazingly comfortable bed and a great shower. Did not miss having a cooktop at all with so many options for going out or getting takeout - the coffee maker/microwave/toaster were all we needed for some meals. My pup and I were very comfortable here. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends and family!
The location was superb for us, as our daughter lives about 5 blocks away and it is very close to restaurants, walking up to peaks in the city, and other activities we did while there. So it worked great as a base location for a visit to that part of the city. The features of the unit are quite basic and functional, with the decor a bit dated, so would not work as well for someone desiring to nestle in there for any amount of time. The street parking was readily available and felt safe enough. Priscilla was a kind and hospitable host.

Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Room was small and Tenant was very rude in the messaging. Kept assuming things about me. Also didn’t mention the parking situation and the rules about street cleaning. As someone who doesn’t live in this city, I had an awful stay. I left a night early.

The pics look like the space is simple and adequate. What it doesn't show is that virtually everything in the space is old, dirty and in disrepair. The entrance is through the garage doors (not at the top of the stairs), then you walk through a dark and messy garage into the apartment. The apartment itself is smelly and dank (dehumidifier was running the whole time). Couch smells like old dog urine and has stains. The floor is painted plywood and concrete and is overall at varying degrees of slant, which lent itself to vertigo. I found a squished stick of gum in between the chair pillow and armrest (I don't chew gum). In the bathroom, the water cup had a blob of toothpaste on the outside, and dirt around the base. Everything was in disrepair. The garage doors required brawn to open/close, main door handle was loose and difficult to lock, the lamp shade was falling off, the walls of the bathroom were crumbling, the closet was full of spider webs, the small fridge leaked water inside from the freezer, the bathroom shelves were dirty and falling off, the windows required effort to close/lock, heater inadequate, etc. I was stuck here on a holiday weekend without other options, but I ended my visit a night early after a friend dropped by and said "what is that SMELL??" Two stars are for good location and a comfortable enough bed, but really this place should either cost half as much or be completely updated. No TV, hot plate or even electric tea kettle. Not a place to hang

Wow! I am so sorry you were unhappy. I have been hosting for almost 8 years and never had a review like your. I know it is not the fanciest of places, and my rate reflects that. You review will probably kill my business, but I suppose that was your intent.
Priscilla was very communicative and made us feel welcome right away. The space itself is cozy and cute though a bit dated but the bed was comfortable and it had all the necessary amenities to have a pleasant stay. My one real issue was that the bathroom and shower need a bit of deep cleaning but other than that my stay was very pleasant. It's a wonderful little neighborhood with lots of cute shops and for the price I believe this is the best rental in the area hands down.
