’ve spent much of my life traveling the world, and somewhere along the way I realized that where you stay can be just as memorable as where you go.

I’m Bill — an entertainer, event producer, travel writer, magician, DJ, and lifelong adventurer. I’ve traveled to nearly every country in the world, all 50 U.S. states, every state in Mexico, every province in Canada, and some wonderfully strange places most people have never heard of. I share many of those adventures as The Traveling Wizard.

After thousands of nights on the road, I’ve learned something: I’d much rather stay somewhere with a story than in another ordinary beige hotel room.

That philosophy inspired my vacation rentals. I love creating unusual places that are an experience in themselves — themed homes, boats you can actually sleep aboard, and properties with enough personality that you’ll probably take pictures before you unpack.

I’ve always been an entertainer at heart. For more than 20 years I even had the unusual job of performing as Ronald McDonald, and today I own an entertainment company in the Houston area. Making people smile has pretty much been my career.

So hosting feels like a natural extension of what I’ve always done. I want you to feel comfortable, but I also want you to have fun. I love adding unexpected details and creating places that you’ll remember long after the trip is over.

When I travel, the best experiences are the ones that leave me with a great story.

The Traveling Wizard

I chose this area because it gives you the best of both worlds — the peaceful feeling of staying right on the water while being just across the bridge from all the action at the Kemah Boardwalk.

I love the Clear Lake area because there’s always something happening. You can spend the day exploring Kemah, enjoy waterfront restaurants and live music, head out on the lake, or simply stay aboard and watch the boats go by.

Blue Dolphin Marina has a relaxed, natural setting that makes it feel like a little escape, yet restaurants, shopping, nightlife and the Boardwalk are only minutes away. Houston, Galveston and NASA’s Space Center Houston are also easy day trips.

For me, it’s the combination of water, boats, sunsets and that laid-back coastal atmosphere that makes this such a fun place to stay.

I’ve never been very interested in ordinary places to stay. I want my properties to be part of the adventure.

Each one has its own personality, story and unexpected details. Some are themed, some float on the water, and some are simply unlike anywhere else you’ve stayed. I’ve created everything from pirate-inspired escapes and unusual houseboats to homes filled with conversation pieces and surprises.

As a lifelong entertainer and world traveler, I’m always borrowing ideas from places I’ve visited and experiences I’ve had. I look at a property and ask, “What would make this more fun? What would make someone remember it?”

My goal isn’t just to give you a bed for the night. I want you to walk in, look around, smile and start exploring. I want kids to think it’s cool, adults to take pictures, and everyone to leave with a story.

You can stay somewhere ordinary anytime. My places are for people who want their accommodations to be part of the trip.
