Penrose, a neighbourhood in Arlington, is home to this holiday home. Union Station Shopping Center and Tysons Corner Center are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's popular attractions can visit Smithsonian Institution and National Air and Space Museum. Check out an event or a game at Capital One Arena, and consider making time for National Museum of Natural History, a top attraction not to be missed.
It is overall a great little place! Super convenient to public transit. And super close to all the things DC and VA!

Furniture very uncomfortable, old. Carpets stained, showers were great! Need measuring cups and spoons! Dish strainer, hangers. Paper goods. Couldn’t remove captions on bottom of screen, no tv remote for the tv. Only firestick you have to use your own apps! Light bulbs. It has potential to be a nice Vrbo…
Upon arrival the home was not clean. Furniture, walls, and carpet were disgusting. Home had a bad smell. Oven had food in it which smoked out the home when we used it to cook. Two dining room chairs were missing hardware. The seats were placed on top without screws and my 5 year old fell off when he sat on one. Curtain rod fell off the wall as well. Host was not helpful and just attempted to deflect issues. Vrbo got a us a new place to stay the following day but the host refused to refund the nights we did not stay. It’s been 10 days and many hours on the phone. Host avoided Vrbo calls for a week and then ultimately decided he didn’t want to refund and Vrbo claims they are not able to override the host refund decision.

The property's location was at first, questionable but turned out to be okay for our 2 night stay visiting Washington DC and environs. It was close enough to a metro station but not walkable. The unit was minimally furnished but had most essentials. The biggest disappointment was the very dirty carpeting and other hardscape flooring. Large obvious spots were on the bedroom carpets and appeared to have been there for some time. It wouldn't be too much to expect to have had them cleaned, as needed. Also many of the door casings/jambs were dirty and uncleaned beyond normal wear-and-tear. It seemed that the host has not focused on "Cleanliness" as being important for his guests. Another item of concern was the SAFETY HAZARD of having VERY slippery tub/shower floor with no hand bars for support while entering the shower stall nor any tub floor non-skid material present while in the shower enclosure.. Very easy to slip while entering. I would think the host would be more concerned about that safety issue above all others. All-in-all, in our opinion... an AVERAGE property, at best. Regretfully, we would not be able to recommend this property to other travelers visiting the DC area.
We were looking for a place to stay while we in town for a burial at Arlington National Cemetery and wanted something more than just a hotel to come back to. This place definitely provided us a respite from the heat of the day. The AC kept the house nice and cool. The back yard was nice for peaceful evening sit. Beds were comfortable for my wife and two of our boys. We were able to cook meals and lounge in the living room for a movie in the evenings. 2 things that really helped us out were that a fan was provided, and I can’t sleep without one, and the other was the location being perfect for getting to Arlington National Cemetery very quickly. We weren’t looking for the Ritz Carlton, but a convenient place to rest after long, but nice days, and this was just what we needed. The price was cheaper than most anywhere could find to boot. Thanks!
