Shaded streets lined with mature trees and early 20th-century homes give the area a warm, historic atmosphere that feels both relaxed and welcoming. The neighborhood blends classic architecture with a lively local spirit, where cozy cafés, casual eateries, and small neighborhood spots create an easy rhythm of daily life. With its walkable streets and inviting residential feel, Elizabeth offers guests a comfortable place to settle in and experience one of Charlotte’s most beloved communities.
Charming Atmosphere
Charlotte’s Second Streetcar Suburb: Dating back to 1891, Elizabeth developed as Charlotte’s second streetcar suburb, growing alongside the city’s early trolley routes. That legacy still shapes the neighborhood today, where walkable streets, gentle blocks, and leafy residential lanes create a relaxed pace that feels both classic and welcoming.
A Neighborhood Rooted in Charlotte’s History: From its earliest years, Elizabeth attracted many of the city’s civic leaders and notable residents, leaving behind a beautiful collection of early 20th-century homes beneath a canopy of mature trees. The architecture and shaded streets give the neighborhood a timeless character that feels quietly elegant and deeply connected to Charlotte’s past.
A Hidden Gem with an Easy Local Rhythm: Elizabeth feels lively without ever losing its calm. Longtime residents share the streets with students from nearby campuses, while cafés, local restaurants, and neighborhood spots bring everyday energy to the area. Visitors often find themselves settling easily into the rhythm here, where morning walks, casual dining, and relaxed evenings feel like part of the neighborhood’s natural flow.

This was a wonderful property with accommodating hosts. My fiancé and I needed somewhere to stay quickly due to work being done at our place. The hosts were very helpful and helped me extend the stay as well. This unit felt like home. It was very clean & neat. Complimentary snacks & cocktails are a great bonus as well!
I would definitely recommend booking their properties.
Rare find in a very historic neighborhood close to many entertainment and dining venues.
This property is a real gem. Not simply a place to stay, but a home away from home in a quiet and historic neighborhood. The unit is extremely well furnished and equipped and is near fine restaurants and entertainment venues.
The hosts' attention to details and cleanliness was apparent at every turn. We strongly encourage consideration of this property for your Charlotte lodging needs.
They kept the original rustic parts of the rooms and combined that perfectly with the modern updates. The apt. has everything you need and then some. The hosts provided more than just a fully stocked apt. The beverages, snacks, fruit and so much more was greatly appreciated. If we have to stay in Charlotte again, this will be our go to place. Thanks for everything!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Likes : safe, quiet, transportation, walkable, easy parking. Dislikes: The few windows in the apartment that could open only opened 3 to 6 inches, no screens, no fresh air. The check-out time of 10:00am was a problem, 12 or 1pm would be more reasonable especially for international travelers. I spent 6 hours in the airport awaiting my flight.
Pros: The location to restaurants is great. We walked to Starbucks and a ramen restaurant. I appreciated the reserved parking in the back of the building. It's a nice, safe, walkable neighborhood. It's only a block away from the (currently free) Gold Line to go directly into town.Cons: It's very loud at night so we didn't get much sleep. All night, there were loud train horns, helicopters, and police sirens. The back and front entry doors slam so loudly it shook the building and we could hear it from the apartment upstairs. There are very few outlets throughout the apartment. There were no outlets in the master bedroom by the bed so phone charging wasn't possible. The TV in the bedroom also didn't work. It refused to connect to the wifi. The building is older and could probably use some renovations in the apartments. The entry codes were sent about an hour before check in.
