About this property

Charming Renovated Fairhope Cottage w/ Screened Porch - Steps to Bay & Downtown

Stay steps from Mobile Bay in this beautifully updated 1940 cottage on Fairhope’s coveted White Avenue in the Historic District, right next to the brand-new public park, White Avenue Park. Park once and walk to the bayfront, the park, downtown shops, cafés, and sunset overlooks, the best of Fairhope living without getting in the car.

Recently renovated, the home blends historic charm with modern comfort: heart-pine floors, plantation shutters, Anderson windows, and a cozy screened porch with a gas fireplace for breezy evenings by the bay.

Inside you’ll find a spacious 3 bedroom / 3 full bath layout, including one fully handicap-accessible bath with walk-in shower and grip bar. The vaulted eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for cooking - French 4-burner stove, granite countertops, generous pantry, and a one-of-a-kind iron chandelier - so you can enjoy real meals at home, not just snacks. A full-size washer and dryer make longer stays easy.

Outside, enjoy a Chicago brick parking pad and quick access to South Mobile Street for easy walks down to the water’s edge and the bayfront trail.

My wife is a Fairhope native, fifth-generation Fairhopian! We got married right here in town. We love the pace of southern living, being close to family, and being just steps from downtown and the bay. Hosting lets us share a little bit of what we love about this place with others.

What makes this property unique

The house has real Fairhope charm. It’s a 1940 cottage that’s been updated without losing its character. What really sets it apart is the location: you can walk to the bay, the pier, and downtown without ever getting in the car. You get the cozy porch, the old wood floors, the vaulted kitchen, and still be right in the middle of everything that makes Fairhope feel like Fairhope.
