You are paying strictly for the location. Being steps from the sand made beach trips easy with young kids, the new deck has great seating, and the kitchen fits large groups. That is where the positives end.The home is dingy and needs a deep clean, not a quick turnover wipe-down. Structural settling is obvious from slanted walls and doors.Central AC is nonfunctional. A mini-split is in the living room, but only two bedrooms have window units—one was broken, leaving three of four bedrooms without cooling. We reported it day one; it took two days for a technician and three days for portable units. The tech confirmed the entire system needs replacement.We also hit safety hazards: indoor lights worked intermittently, and an outdoor outlet sizzled when plugging in string lights around the grill, which the tech flagged as a serious fire risk. The lights on the stairs to the basement never worked and had to use phone light to walk down at night to go to W/D. The basement smells foul, had bugs, and has a "use at your own discretion" sign. We avoided the game room entirely and only used the W/D. The grill has never been cleaned so when using it flames were out of control because all the grease in the bottom was on fire.We requested a partial refund for three nights without AC despite telling them upon checkin, but the host made an incredibly low insulting offer, forcing me to initiate a credit card chargeback. I would not rent here again.
