About this property

Gated & quiet getaway in Wild Dunes Resort with pool - 200 yards to the beach

Summary:

Pelican Bay

The Space:

Set at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac called Pelican Bay in the gated community of Wild Dunes Resort, this three-story, stilted home promises a memorable vacation. Enjoy quick access to the beach and luxe amenities like a private-access shared pool that is open seasonally. Island attractions and downtown Charleston are a short drive away. In the evening, top off your day of adventures with iced tea on the front porch. Or dine alfresco on the screened patio, accompanied by the melody of local birds settling in for the night - the relaxed atmosphere of coastal living awaits!

LIVING AREA

The second-floor living area features ample seating with two couches and three wicker chairs. Glass doors lead to the screened patio and flood the space with natural light.

Unwind and watch a movie on the 32” TV with a DVD player, Roku, and cable.

KITCHEN & DINING

Whip up tasty treats in the well-equipped kitchen. Helpful gadgets include a toaster, blender, waffle iron, air popper, panini press, electric kettle for tea, drip, and Keurig coffee makers

When you’re ready to eat, gather at the six-person dining table or perch at the kitchen bar for three.

BEDROOMS & BATHS

Each of the four bedrooms is appointed with hotel-quality linens. On the third floor, the main bedroom beckons with a cable TV and an en-suite bath with a tub/shower combination. A guest bedroom has a twin-over-twin bunk bed, a separate twin bed, and two cushioned wicker chairs with a TV between them. The second-floor bedroom off the living area has its own bathroom with a tub/shower combination.

OUTDOOR AREAS

Relax on the front porch, outfitted with five rocking chairs. Or make your way to the screened patio to enjoy a meal outside on the table for six. Both outdoor living spaces are located on the second floor.

You’re within steps of Pelican Bay’s shared pool with private access and a short 200-yard walk to the beach through a path behind the house. After a fun-filled day in the sun, clean off the sand at the outdoor shower station underneath the house (non-enclosed).

THE LOCATION

Spend a sun-kissed day at the beach, or rent bikes and explore the beautiful island on two wheels. Book a tee time and enjoy 36 holes at the signature golf courses - Wild Dunes Resort has been touted by Golf Digest as the “Best in State” for golf in South Carolina. For a day of ultimate pampering, make an appointment at the on-site Sand & Sea Day Spa.

EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS

This home includes complimentary Wi-Fi, an outdoor rinse-off area, and a washer/dryer.

The pool is open seasonally from April to October.

The house was perfect for a getaway for four friends. Was well appointed and very clean. I misunderstood how close it was to the beach based on the pictures, but it is only a short walk out of the cul-de-sac neighborhood across the road and then a path to the beach. The beach was beautiful and pristine. I would rent it again.

Very clean house and would say one of the cleanest beach rental homes, if not the cleanest, of any of the many we have stayed in over the years. Nice to have comfortable sheets instead of thin Walmart polyester types. An upgrade to the existing refrigerator and dishwasher is recommended although both worked fine. Only recommendation is for the door lock code to be 4 or 5 digits instead of 10 as it becomes tedious. Washer and dryer were great. The location of house was very quiet and beautiful. Easy to get everywhere, Charleston maybe 20 minutes away at this time of year. Beaches very close, easy walk. It is a gated community but no problem getting in and out. Knew we were coming on check-in. Just the two of us but would easily accommodate families. Initial online check-in cumbersome for identification documents but finally resolved. Docs would not upload for some reason, but property mgt. company eventually said good to go. There appears to be no actual people to talk with, everything must be done by messaging, but that is the way it is these days. All messages were responded to. Overall, outstanding experience.
