About this property

Treetop Cabin. Private & modern w/ hot tub & view

Why Not Woodland Escape is a modern treetop home intended for people who love being outside in nature but don’t want to sacrifice comfort or style.

Perched on 10½ private acres, the house was intentionally designed to blur the lines between indoors and out. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the ridgeline and treetops, and nearly every space connects you back to the woods.

STEP OUTSIDE from the chef's kitchen, and you’ll find a SCREENED OUTDOOR LIVING ROOM with ridgeline views and a perfect curl-up-with-a-book sofa. There's also a TV and a convenient pass-through window to the kitchen.

The stairs from the outdoor living room lead down to the OUTDOOR COVERED KITCHEN, which features a large grill with a side burner, sink, prep space, fridge, and seating for six.

Guests love adding fresh-picked herbs from the HERB GARDEN (steps away from the outdoor kitchen) to their dishes and cocktails.

Grab the S'more sticks and relax around the large FIRE PIT with comfortable Adirondack chairs and a swing.

Step through the large master bedroom sliding door to the HOT TUB AND OUTDOOR SHOWER DECK, complete with a relaxing double chaise to soak in the peace, beauty, and quiet.

The nearly ½-mile PRIVATE CREEKSIDE TRAIL winds through the woods and is just steps from the front door. Dogs give it 5 stars!

INSIDE, the home is warm, modern, uncluttered, but thoughtfully equipped. The CHEF'S KITCHEN is fully stocked with sharp knives, spices, oil, and plenty of cookware and prep space for whatever you dream up.

There’s a BUILT-IN BAR with bar and glassware to craft your curated cocktails.

You also have a dedicated workspace with FIBER INTERNET, a GAME ROOM (Winmau dart board, ping-pong, and Twister), and a GYM with weights, mats, bench, pull-up bar, and more.

INTENTIONALLY DOG-WELCOMING ($115 pet fee per stay for up to two dogs)

We're not just dog-friendly, we're dog exuberant! We love featuring our dog friends on our social pages and happily provide dog beds, bowls, treats, towels, blankets, shampoo, waste bags, toys, and even a crate for anxious dogs. Furniture is for humans only — thank you for helping us keep the home beautiful for all guests.

THE WHY NOT STORY

In 2021, we parked a 20’ camper on this land and began clearing it ourselves — uncovering ridgeline views and countless Y-shaped knotty branches along the way. “Why Not” stuck. We designed and built this home from the ground up, crafting many details ourselves. If you stay, we hope you feel the residual good vibes and energy :)

We're proud to have our house design featured in City Scope Magazine (Spring 2026)

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“The cabin and the surrounding scenery were even more beautiful in person than in the photos.”

“If you’re looking for peace and grounding, this is the place for you."

"The hot tub, outdoor shower, and fire pit made everything extra relaxing."

"Beds were comfy, and everything was carefully arranged to ensure all our needs were met.”

“Very well decorated and clean. Loved our visit.”

THE AREA VIBE

You’ve landed in a creative, outdoorsy mountain pocket where hang gliding pilots, hikers, and nature lovers call home.

PARKING

There's plenty! And the driveway is flat and easy to maneuver.

FLOWER MOON BAKERY -- Delivered to your door

Mollie owns this delectable micro-bakery, and she happens to live a hop, skip, and a jump from Why Not. She’s like Little Red Riding Hood and literally leaves the basket of yummies on the doorstep.

"The owner, Kelly, hooked us up with Mollie, who delivered freshly made sourdough bread, farm-fresh eggs, and homemade cinnamon rolls straight to us. The bread and cinnamon rolls were ridiculously good!"

YOUR 5-STAR EXPERIENCE

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

-- We live on 10 1/2 wooded acres, and so you'll likely encounter bugs and other wildlife. Despite having a monthly pest control service, you may still encounter some bugs.

-- We have a septic system, a well, and a water filtration system (because the mountain has high iron). You help keep them clean, flowing, and problem-free when you:

+ ONLY flush the 1-ply paper provided. I like deluxe toilet paper, too, but our septic doesn't, and she rules the house.

+ ONLY put toilet paper in the toilet and put EVERYTHING ELSE in the basket

+ Shower off lotions and oils before getting into the hot tub

+ Put all grease and food waste in the basket (no garbage disposal)

+ Sometimes, iron passes through the water filtration system. It's harmless but may discolor the toilets, tubs, or white clothes (if you do laundry)

-- No parties or events
-- Six guests MAX
-- No smoking of any kind inside

-- DOGS: Up to two well-behaved and house-trained pups are welcome (there is a $115 pet fee per stay. Please add your pets at check-out, and the fee will be added automatically.

Kelly was a great host as well as attentive. The property was all that was described and more. My wife brought our two dogs on an extend weekend in the mountains and instantly were blown away when we pulled into the driveway. The property was beautifully landscaped and maintained. The interior was modern and clean. The only thing we regret is having to leave. We will be back for a longer stay in the near future.

The privacy of the place was truly refreshing—perfect for unwinding and escaping. We enjoyed the lovely walking trail just steps away from the property. It was a joy to take a walk, soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Plus, being dog-friendly made it even better! This trip was just my husband myself and our puppies. If we came with more of our family having all the outdoor spaces would be great. Overall, I highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a serene setting. It was exactly what I needed, and I can't wait to return!

A Peaceful, Secluded Paradise – Absolutely Flawless Stay! Our stay at the Treetop Cabin was nothing short of excellent. If you are looking for a secluded, private, and deeply peaceful getaway, this is it. The property is incredibly quiet, and we loved waking up to the beautiful sound of the birds singing every morning. We spent a ton of our time on the upstairs screened-in patio, which was the perfect spot to relax. The amenities here are top-tier—the hot tub was wonderful, and the outdoor shower right off the master suite deck was an absolute highlight. Inside, the cabin features really cool, unique decor, a fantastic kitchen setup that made cooking a breeze, and even gym equipment! It is also incredibly dog-friendly. We took full advantage of the hiking trail right on the property, and the pups absolutely loved exploring it.To top it all off, the hospitality was unmatched. The owner, Kelly, hooked us up with Mollie, who delivered freshly-made sourdough bread, farm-fresh eggs, and homemade cinnamon rolls straight to us. The bread and cinnamon rolls were ridiculously good! This is an awesome place, and we would absolutely stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!

Why Not Woodland Escape got its name because we literally said WHY NOT move from the city and live on-site in a camper while we design and build our dream home?

WHY NOT also gets its name from the countless branches and trees we handled in the shape of 'Y's' and of course, all the knots in the trees.

Why they chose this property

We spent over two years looking for the perfect acreage for our dream home. And we found it!

What makes this property unique

Our property has it all! Privacy, views, trails, a creek, wildlife, and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
