About this property

The Lodge · Walk to JT Park, Hot Tub, Cowboy Tub

Summary:

The Lodge is a spacious, design-forward retreat on the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, with Black Rock Canyon trails within walking distance. Made for families and friends who love the outdoors, this five-bedroom home pairs a dramatic stone fireplace and inviting gathering spaces with a swim-style hot tub, seasonal cowboy tub, and evenings around the fire pit. Hike straight from the neighborhood, then return to a house where there's plenty of room to enjoy being together.

The Space:

⚠️ ZERO-TOLERANCE NOISE POLICY - NOT A PARTY HOUSE ⚠️

Please note our house rules in regard to partying and noise before booking: THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE. Please do not book this house if you are planning to party. Quiet hours begin at 9PM – 8AM. The house is in a quiet, noise-intolerant neighborhood. Excess noise can result in fines and the termination of your reservation without refund. Per Yucca Valley noise ordinance, sound must be kept below 55 dB during the day (about the level of normal conversation), and below 45 dB (about the level of a quiet office or whispered conversation) between 9pm and 8am. We do not allow playing music on speakers at the house at any time, as it violates these thresholds. This house is meant for enjoying the quietude of the National Park. Excess noise can result in fines and the termination of your reservation without refund.

-The Space-

There's an easy rhythm to staying here. Some guests head out early for the trails while others linger over breakfast, and everyone has somewhere comfortable to land when they return. Designed by Barrie Livingstone, the home brings the character of a mountain lodge to the high desert, with soaring ceilings, natural stone, warm wood accents, and generous windows overlooking Joshua trees and distant mountains. Its two living rooms, multiple dining areas, and spacious outdoor gathering spots make it especially well suited to families and groups who want to share a vacation without spending every moment in the same room.

-Highlights-

► Walking access to Black Rock Canyon hiking trails and Joshua Tree National Park

-Outdoor Amenities-

The outdoors is a big part of life at The Lodge, whether you're heading into the park or spending an afternoon at home. The 10-person swim-style hot tub offers more room to stretch out than a traditional spa, with the option to swim against its current or simply settle in for a soak. During warmer months, the 10-foot cowboy tub provides a refreshing place to cool off among the desert landscape. The cowboy tub is not an in-ground swimming pool and is unavailable from November through March.

The covered patio makes outdoor meals easy, with a long dining table, propane BBQ, and space to play ping pong. Beyond the porch, the yard offers Giant Jenga, cornhole, badminton, and hammocks for anyone who would rather relax. As evening arrives, gather in the red Adirondack chairs around the propane fire pit, with mountain silhouettes and Joshua trees creating a distinctly high-desert backdrop.

One of the home's greatest advantages is how easily a day of hiking can begin. The Black Rock Canyon trailheads are within walking distance, so you can set out to explore Joshua Tree National Park without needing to drive to the trails.

-Living Area-

The main living room makes an impression the moment you enter. A towering, two-story stone fireplace anchors the space, while large windows, a richly colored teal sofa, mustard-yellow swivel chairs, and sculptural lighting give the room a welcoming, collected feel. It's a beautiful place to settle into a conversation after a day exploring the park, with enough seating to bring everyone together.

The second living room offers a more casual setting, with a smart TV, pellet stove, and comfortable seating for movie nights or a quiet afternoon indoors. Books and board games are available, and the separation between the living spaces makes it easy for different generations or groups of friends to enjoy the house at their own pace.

-Kitchen and Dining-

The kitchen has plenty of personality, with deep-colored cabinetry, butcher-block counters, a mosaic tile backsplash, and a central island with barstools. It's fully equipped for preparing meals at home, from quick breakfasts before a hike to a full dinner with the group.

Coffee lovers will appreciate the dedicated station stocked with Joshua Tree Coffee Company whole beans, a drip coffee maker, and a French press. The nearby round breakfast table is ideal for a slower start to the morning, while the formal dining room provides a dedicated space for everyone to sit down together. When the weather invites you outside, the covered patio offers another inviting setting for meals.

-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

With five bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, The Lodge comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests. Four bedrooms are upstairs, while the fifth is downstairs, offering a convenient arrangement for families or friends traveling together.

The primary suite features a king bed with a teal upholstered headboard, a vaulted window, and a smart TV. Its ensuite bathroom brings a spa-like touch to the stay with a freestanding black soaking tub, double vanity, and beautifully tiled shower.

Three additional upstairs bedrooms each feature a queen bed and share a full bathroom off the hallway. Their comfortable furnishings and individual rooms give guests a quiet place to retreat at the end of the day.

The downstairs fifth bedroom features a twin daybed with a pull-out twin trundle, making it especially useful for children or guests who prefer separate beds. A half bathroom is also located downstairs.

Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

Please note that the garage, the closet under the stairs and the hallway cabinets are locked and used for rental supplies.

This property was very spacious, clean, private and quiet. No ambient sound. Being close to the National Park made it easy to make full days of activities. Area restaurants were great. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Highly recommend, especially if you are in need of peace and quiet.

Amazing location and fantastic home

The location of this home is amazing, being near Joshua Tree and right across the street from hiking. The home is as nice as portrayed in the ad, with plenty of space for a variety of activities. The home is well equipped and very nicely decorated. We didn't experience any issues with the home during our stay and the owners were quick to respond and easy to communicate with.
