This was the most incredible place I’ve ever been. The host was amazing, they have groundskeepers on property at all times and they were SO helpful. The location and property is absolutely gorgeous, they even left us sodas and water. Great location and the beach is stunning. If I ever return to PV, I will be booking this again. 100/10 experience!

The space and host were great! The maid service and free laundry option was incredible. Great location easy to get into town by beach or uber. They were not kidding about the staircase to the private beach. We would recommend to anyone.

The Carriage house was so perfect for us. Tastefully decorated with local decor, clean and well stocked, and a location that gave us the privacy, yet accessibility to beach and Centro.

Such a great spot and relatively quiet for PV. The birds were our alarm clock and once up we sat and enjoyed our coffee on the little balcony. So many different coloured butterflies to see! Sunsets were amazing. A/C is a blessing as late afternoon is bright and warm if you happen to be in the suite. Our two and a half weeks flew by!

Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Staff were excellent, professional and kind. Carriage house is beautiful. We would return again, and highly recommend this place to anyone (who can handle a lot of stairs) The proximity to everything, while feeling pleasantly secluded and private, is a bonus. Stunning property.

A wonderful stay! We had ten days - the weather was hot but having AC and the ocean nearby made it all work out. We got in the ocean every day and while those stairs are no joke, it made taking a shower when we got back even more refreshing!

This rental is beautiful and the staff are awesome. The Carriage house sits above the main guest house, closer to the main road. Expect road noise and vibration from traffic. All staff, house guests and service workers enter and leave the property directly below your balcony. Perfect for additional guests when renting the main house.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us - we are really glad you loved our home and team! It is a perfect addition should a group be renting Villa Estrella Mar or Villa Las Puertas as the properties are so close. The balcony of this property is about 30 or so feet from the entrance to the neighboring villa, so not exactly below the balcony as is stated, but conveniently located. Our property is in a quiet residential area but closer to the road so, yes, at times you can hear the big trucks come by, but as a whole this property is exponentially quieter than anything you will find in Zona Romantica and most guests do not find it disruptive. Many of our other reviews mention how quiet and peaceful the property was for them.

Staff is amazing. Place is clean and very quiet at night. The bed is good. It’s about 100 steps down to the beach-not too bad. Once you are down there it is easy to walk to Romantic Zone and Malecon. I traveled solo and felt very safe. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are staying in the Carriage house you do not have access to the pool. Over-all I highly recommend this place, especially if you want a quiet nights rest.

We enjoyed our time in Puerto Vallarta and this condo was in a great location...not far from town and walkable if you go to the beach and walk from there. Oscar was absolutely wonderful and helpful when we had questions. The condo was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The housekeeping was fantastic...restocked water and coffee and did some laundry for us when needed. I would only say that there are a lot of stairs to the beach, so just be prepared to walk back up to the condo! We hope to visit again.

Thank you for the review! Happy to hear you loved our location - a nice blend between being private and secluded but close to the action as well! Also glad you enjoyed our staff and that housekeeping kept the property clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The free laundry service is always a bonus! Ha walking the stairs to the beach is the perfect way to really earn those margaritas! Of course - sometimes when I am feeling lazy a $2.50 Uber ride back can be tempting! We would welcome you both back any time.

Great stay!

We loved staying at the Carriage house. It had great access to the beaches, our favorite was walking along the water to Conchas Chinas beach and then stopping back at Amapas beach before heading up the stairs. It was also very relaxing to walk home on the beach after grabbing dinner in town and witnessing all the various festivities happening in PV.

About the host

Hosted by Jordan MacPherson

Host profile image
Roger and Nancy MacPherson along with their daughter Jordan MacPherson have worked to make this vacation destination an unparalleled experience. Together they have owned properties in Puerto Vallarta for over 30 years now and have always loved the friendly family culture and inviting environment. Villa Estrella Mar in Puerto Vallarta was built with the idea of having an authentic rustic Mexican architectural experience. The Carriage House is a lovely addition to Villa Estrella Mar, but we happily rent it out separately. Jordan handles all of the rentals for the property.

Why they chose this property

The Romantic zone in Puerto Vallarta is a true treasure of Mexico, nestled below the plush jungle hillsides with its cobblestone roads and beautiful homes with phenomenal views. As the city has grown it has maintained its friendly personality and rustic feel, you will see families strolling hand in hand down the Malecon and will always feel safe. Whether you are looking for an escape for the stresses of your every day life or a trip full of adventure, Puerto Vallarta will not disappoint.
