About this property
Boatshed Bliss - 1 hour from CBD
Simplicity and peace in mad times! A residential island an hour from the CBD yet it feels like another world. Watch the sunrise over the escarpment rising above the glorious Hawkesbury River and drift off to sleep to the rhythm of gently lapping waves. Come by ferry, water taxi or tinny to our jetty. Curl up with a book, bushwalk, birdwatch, throw in a line or stroll down to the cafe for coffee. Perfect for writers, artists, boaters, photographers and nature lovers. Recharge and make memories!
The space
A unique restored private cabin right on the water. Recent renovations have respected the character of this rustic cabin. The cabin has air-conditioning electric blankets, high-quality linen, ensuite bathroom, well-equipped kitchen, with full stove and cooktop, fridge, microwave and other appliances. There is a private balcony overlooking the river and downstairs another large shady deck with deck chairs where you can relax and hang out and a third small deck to the side which is like a little treehouse.
Use the jetty if you are bringing your boat or would like to go fishing off the jetty. Please note jet skis and large boats can not be accommodated-
The cabin is three jetties down from Bradley's beach and a short walk to the Cafe, Bowling Club, and main ferry wharf.
Ideal for relaxing, swimming, walking, chilling, writing and dreaming.
Views you would not believe! You will fall in love with this unique little home - it has a sense of simplicity and everything you need to just live.
Enjoy the bush, birdwatching, cloud watching, river gazing and the stars at night! Leave your car on the mainland and take a complete break from your hectic lifestyle.
There is one open plan living space with a queen size comfy bed.
Take the ferry over to Brooklyn and enjoy the cafes and seafood restaurants.
The main train from the CBD meets the ferry and regularly runs throughout the week.
If you want space to breathe and get back in touch with the rhythms of nature, this is the holiday you need. It's gentle pace, it's light, its expansive views! So special and the comforting thing is it's yours when you need it!
Guest access
Private use of cabin and downstairs waterfront deck. Shared access to the garden, private jetty, and pontoon. (As it is a water access property we need to use the jetty as well ) Use of our pontoon to moor small boats , our tandem kayak, life jackets and fishing gear by arrangement when not in use.
Interaction with guests
You will have the place to yourself and if we are not there we are only a text message or a call away.
Happy to have a chat about things to do and see on the Hawkesbury River or leave you to discover it all for yourselves. Our place is a long way up the hill from the Boatshed so you have your privacy.
Other things to note
We have fishing gear, a tandem kayak and life jackets that we have been known to share with guests who ask us very nicely :) the kayak is very popular with guests - even in winter!
The Boatshed has wifi, however, the signal strength varies from strong to abysmal. There is no TV but there is a Bluetooth tower so you can stream your music. The Boatshed is a place to unwind, disconnect and tune into the mesmerizing vista of the water and sky and the sounds of the birds, trees, and waves.
The kookaburras are gorgeous but very brazen and they think it's fine to share your meals!
Your well behaved dog will have a great time! So far 6 dogs have been out on the kayak!:
