if you do book a stay we will ask you to pre book boats etc pronto, so we can set away time to be at oxley on the day, before your arrival to set her up for you

Great spot ..great rustic house

We loved our stay .,very relaxing ..good fishing from the jetty and the boat ....quiet and peaceful ....bush turkeys ...lizards ...dragons .....ducks ....swimming from the front door .... Really nice way to spend a week

Boatshed haven

On short notice booked this for my anniversary and could not have done better. Jacqui is incredible, worked tirelessly to make this happen. If I had not sacrificed my phone to the river, many smiles I'm sure could provide resounding evidence towards a great time.

Perfect weekend

The Oxley Boatshed is a quaint little cottage located in a tranquil part of the Hawkesbury river. We had a very relaxing weekend and will definitely be back.

An Amazing Place to Escape the Real World!

So close to Sydney but worlds away. Rustic and full of character this is a unique property with a real connection to the river, open the boat house doors and there it is! Rest and restore, explore, cook, fish, and sit back and go with the daily rhythm of the river. Communication and information from Jacqui was flawless and the river community is friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed stopping, relaxing and reconnecting as a family after an unusual year. Also really appreciated the bonus late departure - thanks! Will definitely be back.

AMAZING !!!!

The property was perfect, an old boatshed converted to living space, with all the essentials. Living on the water, boat access only, perfect for that fishing trip with luxury accommodation OR just sitting on your private jetty sipping champagne, then retire to the lounge/dinning area to an open fire ! ! What a way to spend the day and night ! We highly recommend this property !

Cool and Quirky Boathouse

We stayed as a family of four and enjoyed our stay very much. The ambiance on our arrival with soft lights, music and such a welcoming feel. Jut sit on the deck and watch the world go by. EXCELLENT relaxation. Everything you need just bring yummy food an drinks and you are set!!

tranquil and full of character

Oxley Boatshed An easy drive out of Sydney, convenient travel time if you are just away for an extended weekend - mind you you'll want to stay the week weather permitting! Tranquil location on the stunning Hawksbery river (an old favourite). Charming property with an abundance of character. Environmentally minded, homely, comfortable, views views view +++, well equiped kitchen. Easy organising a self drive tinny, felt comfortable leaving car in Brooklyn, locals very welcoming and helpful. So nice just to switch off, forget the time and sink into the couch for fire place gazing, or sun lounging on the jetty (gets morning sun in the winter). Loved waking to bird song, kayaking and photographing mist rising off the river. A few tricks needed to wrangle the fire place to not smoke yourself out, and again an older property that requires one to tread carefully re. water use, and not overloading appliances in the kitchen. We'll be back!

Rustic Beauty

We loved our stay at Oxley boat shed, the boat shed is rustic, filled with beautiful furnishings. The open plan living area, with the grand sandstone fireplace in the center of the room is dramatic, not to mention the stain glass windows that surround you. All original boatshed floorboards which just adds to the charm. You can literally open every wall of the shed to the outside surroundings. Great area to swim with a sandy beach at high and low tide. Surprisingly no mosquitoes! They generally love me, but just the coils did the trick! It’s tank water as all property’s are on the river, I suggest bring your own drinking water. True rustic accommodation meets luxury riverside living. Loved it.

Exceeded expectations

I recently stayed at the Oxley Boathouse and it had wowed me fromwhen I was looking at it years ago. It had been on my bucket list for far too long. Well I finally got there and it didnt dissappoint. A piece of heritage on the Hawkesbury river faithfully and comfortably restored. A water taxi trip with Neil fm Kangaroo Pt was seamless. It was lovely floating in at twilight to see the warm sepia lights welcoming us. Beds super comfy with lovely blankets. Fire prepped and ready for us to just light. The boathouse was huge with many areas to relax in or share happy times with. It was a very welcoming, inviting amd rustic space; lacking for nothing. I will plan another stay in summer and hope to see the resident kookaburra. A lovely staycation was had by all. Thanks Jacqui and stayz team for taking care of us from the time of booking through to our departure. Well done for making our little soiree so extremely pleasant
