The facility is just about the highest point around, higher than many of the surrounding mountains. At times the balcony is above the clouds. Well equipped kitchen (should one wish to cook) and full size washer and dryer so one can pack light. Located near the newly established High Country Wine Trail. The local Lowes supermarket is definitely high end and has plenty of items that make great picnic lunches at those local wineries. In general, western North Carolina is beautiful. Sunsets from the balcony and from the deck at the end of the building are gorgeous.We had but one concern. Being in our late seventies we found the instructions about operating the TV confusing. I'm sure they are crystal clear to those younger than we.

Great home base for fall mountain getawayWe stayed for a long weekend to explore the area. Sugar Top is a unique property literally perched on the top of the mountain. All property staff from the guard at the gate to those working the front desk were very welcoming and friendly.The unit was nicely equipped and comfortable. Had everything we needed. The sofa is definitely well worn in spots and needs replaced. Not sure if it’s aging electrical- but running my hairdryer set off the smoke alarm outside the master bathroom. The master bedroom fan/light is operated by remote and wouldn’t turn off… only way to fix was to flip the breaker switch. We had a wonderful trip and would certainly stay at Sugar Top again!

We appreciate your review and indeed our building is historical but our furnishings are modern along with wiring, though our ceiling fan may be too modern as WiFi signals cross sometimes. Our smoke detectors are sensitive (wired exactly the same in every unit per fire marshal code) and assure safety. We wish you many happy returns

Everything was Lovely The TV were a bit of a challenge. There were instructions but I wasn’t able to navigate it. But the one in Master Bedroom was fine.Only about a mile to the grocery store & restaurant. Beautiful area!

Very clean condo, had everything to suit our needs. All the people in the building are super nice and helpful. Breath taking views! My kids loved being able to see our building when they skiied on sugar mountain. Will definitely be back!

We rented this property for a weekend away and could not have picked a better time. It snowed all weekend and we had a wonderful time. The place was comfortable, clean, well kept with a wonderful view. We were so spoiled by its owners and the staff at the lodge we could not have asked for more. We hope to return soon for another opportunity to share this property. The Purkeys were perfect host and took time to make sure our stay was memorable. We Highly recommend this property.
