Moondance has long been one of Beachwalk’s most popular rentals, with its open floor plan, soaring cathedral ceilings, and large lot. But now Moondance will be better than ever, as it will be undergoing a renovation in Fall 2025 that will increase the bathroom count from 3 to 5, 4 of which will be brand new. All four bedrooms on the second floor will be master suites—no sharing a bathroom with anyone. You will want to grab this rental while you can before Summer 2026 is fully booked. Six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a huge living room, and a finished basement/play space. Moondance is not to be missed. And the location is about as good as it gets, located in central Beachwalk, steps to the pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and Central Park; the part of Beachwalk that has the largest lots and most space. Moondance is the perfect setting for memorable family gatherings or getaways with friends.

The fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops, glass tile backsplash, and stainless-steel appliances. The expansive great room offers comfortable seating for everyone, while multiple porches and decks provide plenty of space to gather or relax in privacy. Enjoy indoor dining for 16, outdoor dining for another 16, plus a special kids' table for eight. The home’s six bedrooms, five of which will be en-suite, including both ground-floor and second-floor master bedrooms, comfortably accommodate couples, children, grandparents, and guests.

A finished 1,000-square-foot basement offers a playful rec room with a flat-screen TV, DVD player, DirecTV, and a colorful striped floor that kids will love. Please note that the basement has 6-foot ceilings and is not suitable for sleeping.

A custom-painted house golf cart (available seasonally) adds extra fun and convenience as you explore all Beachwalk has to offer: a private heated pool and toddler pool (seasonal), basketball and tennis courts, beach volleyball, bocce ball, shuffleboard, playground, putting green, and free access to kayaks and paddleboards on Lake Kai. All of this is just a short walk from one of Lake Michigan’s most beautiful beaches.

Additional Information:
Peak season rentals are Friday to Friday (mid-June to mid-August) with a 7-night minimum.
Beachwalk Homeowners Association charges a $15 per person wristband fee (ages 4 and up) and $5 per vehicle parking pass for resort amenities (mid-May through September).

Great weekend trip

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at BW! Moon dance was a perfect size house for our group and the golf cart was a huge plus! Only negative feedback was that the floors on the main level didn’t seem clean. Very quickly our feet turned black and we had multiple little ones walking, crawling and playing on the floor. Hot water was also limited.

A Nice Property in a nice area

Great house with plenty of places to sleep. The area has great amenities like tennis, beach volleyball, a pool etc. The walk to the beach is short and pleasant.

Family Beachwalk Stay at Moondance

Our house accommodated our family perfectly and the location was great. The house cleanliness could have been better. We had little ones crawling and they would have black hands and knees after crawling on floor and rug. Housekeeping came to wash the floors which helped. We hesitated to turn the ceiling fans on as they were covered in thick dust and the dryer would not dry the clothing/towels even after cleaning the filter as the vent appeared to be dirty and full. Other than these issues, we loved Beachwalk and can’t wait to come back.

Very disappointed

The size and location of Moondance is great, but the interior condition of the property was incredibly disappointing. The living room couches, pillows, rug and the carpeting upstairs are filthy! The air was broken and could not be turned down. It was 62 degrees in the home, so we ended up putting the heat on for several days. The dishwasher and dryer were broken. A toilet seat was broken upon our arrival. The wifi went out. We contacted the front desk immediately to let them know. Maintenance came out and only replaced the toilet seat. We had to contact the front desk two more times during our stay and finally spoke to the manager, Erin. Erin was very responsive and took care of everything she could, but by that time, we only had a day left. This could be such a great property, but the inside needs a lot of maintenance and major cleaning.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 4th year in the Beachwalk Rental properties and each year we have stayed at a different house. Moondance has some great amenities....nice area outside with firepit and lots of seating! A golf cart which we used daily to make our way to the beach....kids loved the golf cart for leisure rides, etc. The location of this property is perfect....very close to all the amenities and only a short walk to the beach. A few suggestions would be to have batteries that work in the ROKU remotes, garbage bags to cover 4 days (we only had 4-5 total bags...but were given more when asked), Floors did not seem to be clean and there was no "welcome" package with clear instructions as to house details, etc. Also...washer was on 2nd floor...dryer in basement??? Very unhandy!! Why?

So Disappointing

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband, grown children, grandchildren and I recently stayed at Moondance in Beachwalk Resort. The resort had great amenities that we enjoyed like the swimming pool, splash pad, the pond for fishing and the ice cream shop. We liked the location of the house to the beach. The house had great space for the size of our group, but that is where the goodness stopped. There were multiply problems with the house. The first day we were there we discovered the outdoor shower was broken and it flooded the basement. There was only occasional hot water at the house - not related to the broken outdoor shower and I did report this the first day we were there. The water was mostly lukewarm or cold - our showers were chilly the majority of the time. The dryer was not heating up to dry clothes. The resort did send out a repairman,but it was not fixed. The dryer did not work the entire time we were there. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes. On day 5 of our vacation it was fixed by a repairman that came. The wifi was very spotty if working at all. Also, on day 5 the resort gave us the name and password of a different rental property's wifi so we were able to us wifi that way. The ceiling fan in the main space made a terrible noise when you turned it on, so we could not use it. This was all very frustrating and disappointing to me. I had arranged this vacation for our family who traveled from different states to come and have a week together. No one should be staying at Moondance until these problems have been fixed. The staff was very understanding and kind, but were unable to remedy all of these problems.

Big Family Trip

Reviewer Comments: The house was just the right size for us, we enjoyed how each set of rooms upstairs had a bathroom between: this allowed each family group to share one bathroom among themselves. We enjoyed the quietude of the resort, especially in the morning on the upper deck off our room. There was ample seating space for our group of 15. The kids love the PacMan machine in the basement. Some of the furnishings are a little tired (rugs worn, couches and pillows too floppy) but comfortable overall and the bedrooms are updated and perfectly appointed. We had some trouble getting hot water, the office staff and maintenance were very responsive.{The staff at Beach Walk really make the experience great, they were helpful and friendly and answered many many questions for us.} We loved having the golf cart, it was so nice to take little drives around the resort together.

Some of these issues included: - An upstairs spindle came out when a baby tried to pull themselves up (baby could have fallen to his death!) - down stairs toilet not anchored to floor - hot water takes several minutes to arrive at the kitchen faucet - Family Room large ceiling fan about to break (gears grind when turned on)- Kitchen trash container lid kept coming off- Clothes Dryer does not dry clothes in a reasonable amount of time - Dishwasher does poor job of cleaning dishes (maybe due to lack of hot water) - Having an Arcade Game in basement is a bad idea because kids should be outside and also there are tv's in every room for entertainmentWe like the house size, location and the surrounding activities (beach, pool, hiking trails, zoo, etc.)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 3rd trip to Beachwalk for the Labor Day weekend, and the 3rd house we stayed in. The resort itself is great, so much to do! The house this weekend was a little outdated, the stove didn't have a knob for one of the burners, dirty diapers and trash were left in two of our rooms, and the house could have used a good cleaning (baseboards and corners in the bathroom specifically). Overall the house had more than enough space for our group of 13, and the outdoor areas were great.

Fun weekend!

Location and amenities were great. Proximity to fun family activities was perfect and the golf cart was needed for grandma. Property was a bit older than we thought from the images. Had enough places to sleep for our large group of 17. Wish we had a hand towel for each guest and a few extra bath towels. Also wish there were more towel racks in bathrooms to hang them to dry. Overall had everything we needed and would consider staying again.

Ultimate BW Experience

An amazing time with my sons and great friends in Beachwalk. We loved the Music In The Park, fishing, the beach and the wonderful dinners made on the grill. Beautiful home with board games and laughter into the night. Can’t wait to stay again next year.

Fun week in the sun

The golf cart was a big hit, too. Large kitchen and lots of cookware, plates, etc...Baking sheets need replacing-very burnt. Carpet needs replacing as it is very dirty. Kids’ feet were filthy after a short time. Mattresses in queen room with twin could use replacing. Sheets and towels were not the quality you would expect for the price of the rental. House was generally clean but I had to wipe down doors, handles and stair banisters. Location was excellent! We love the area and would possibly come back to Moondance.
