Chalet Blanc and Chalet Noir together form a rare private riverfront retreat designed for large group stays, offering two adjacent luxury cabins perched high above the Shenandoah River. Ideal for reunions, retreats, and multi‑family gatherings, the combined property provides spacious interiors and exceptional shared outdoor living across both homes. Set side by side in a quiet rural neighborhood and accessed by a well-maintained gravel road for the final 0.7 mile, the cabins are surrounded by farmland, wooded landscapes, and long‑range mountain views. Chalet Blanc is bordered by a neighboring home, with privacy fencing and mature trees providing separation, while Chalet Noir adjoins a vacant wooded lot.
Together, the retreat offers 12 bedrooms and multiple expansive living areas, including professionally designed interiors, fully equipped kitchens, gaming spaces, and a variety of indoor and outdoor dining and gathering areas suited for large groups.
Outdoor living defines the retreat. Guests enjoy spacious covered decks with ample dining furnishings and propane grills, interconnected terraces, and multiple lounge areas. Perched approximately 80 feet above the river, the resort-style terraces offer sweeping Blue Ridge Mountain views accompanied by the soothing sound of the Shenandoah River below. Amenities include two private heated plunge/cocktail pools (each 20' × 8'), two hot tubs, two lighted pergolas with propane fire pit tables and seating, and a bubble‑windowed barrel sauna positioned along a retaining wall with panoramic river and mountain views. Guests can follow the steps and trail from the terrace down the bluff to the river, where a riverside platform and small beach provide direct access for shore fishing or relaxing by the water. Wood-burning fire pits nearby offer cozy spots for quiet evenings under the stars. Together, these outdoor amenities and the serene river setting create an experience that is truly unmatched in the region.
Each cabin features a similar layout, with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths on the main level. Two king bedrooms share a master-style bathroom on one side, while a queen bedroom and a double-twin bedroom are connected by a Jack-and-Jill bath with private vanity areas on the other. The lower level opens directly onto the terrace and adds two more bedrooms, including another king bedroom and a double bunk room with four twin mattresses, plus a hallway full bath. This brings each home to six bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Across both homes, the retreat provides 12 bedrooms (six kings, two queens, two double twins, and two double bunks totaling 20 beds), six full baths, and two half baths, offering abundant and flexible sleeping arrangements while preserving comfort and privacy for large group stays.
An on-site EV charger is available at each cabin for guest convenience, and an enterprise-level Wi-Fi network provides fast, reliable internet throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces. Chalet Blanc and Chalet Noir are centrally located between Massanutten, Luray, and Skyline Drive, roughly 20 to 25 minutes from each, and within easy reach of hiking, shopping, restaurants, and wineries.
GUEST ACCESS: Guests enjoy exclusive use of both cabins and their private amenities, including the large covered upper decks with ample outdoor dining areas; expansive, interconnected terraces with propane fire pits, lounge seating, pools, hot tubs, and sauna; and the scenic bluff and riverfront grounds, complete with the outdoor staircase and trail descending the bluff, riverside platform, small beach area along the shoreline, and wood-burning fire pits (complimentary firewood provided) and seating area. The only areas not accessible to guests are two locked utility/HVAC closets on each lower level. Access to the home is via a keypad entry system, and a unique access code will be provided before check-in.

About the host
Hosted by Swathi
Hello and Welcome! As a former Virginia resident, it was hard not to fall in love with the beauty and serenity of Shenandoah. I currently live in California with my husband and my teenage son. We enjoy hiking and relaxing by water.
Why they chose this property
It's an ideal setup: luxury blended with nature. Waking up to the soft sounds of water flowing, while sipping coffee. The warm morning sun would peek through the Blue Ridge Mountain and spilling across the large deck and into the living room through the huge panoramic windows. It's dreamy yet very real!
