Disliked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
The surf shack in PB was just meh. It is fine for younger people who don’t mind the surroundings but if you prefer a nice environment this is not the place for you. The inside was fine and had everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom and it felt decently clean. The issue is the outside patio and area. You look over industrial looking roofs with AC units. There are 2 clubs right next door that are extremely loud until 3am and it is hard to sleep through the noise. The other issue was the strong smell of urine out side due to people peeing in the alleyway where the apartment door is. Lastly, the communication with Amy was poor both during our initial booking and at checkout. We reached out both on the app and Amy’s direct text to ask if we could check out by 10am but leave our suitcase tucked alongside the apartment for an hour due to a late flight. With no response, we checked out of the apartment leaving it perfectly tidy, but left our 1 small suitcase outside. When we returned at 11am, Amy was there and began to yell that we owed her late fees for a late check out. She was completely rude and harsh and there was no reason to behave in such an unprofessional manor. As a 5 star customer with VRBO who has traveled around the world, I have never experienced such inhospitable or aggressive behavior from a host. I would never want to interact with this host and would stay in a nicer location and pass on the surf shack. It is not worth the money or grief from the host!
