About this property

Aurora Views from your Cozy Fairbanks Cabin

Experience an unforgettable Alaska winter surrounded by snow-covered woods, peaceful scenery, and the possibility of seeing the northern lights right from the property.

This newly remodeled two-bedroom home is designed to be a warm, comfortable home base for your Fairbanks winter adventure. Spend your days exploring, dog sledding, visiting hot springs, chasing the aurora, or simply experiencing Interior Alaska—then come home to a cozy space tucked into the woods.

Both upstairs bedrooms even have specially positioned windows so you can check the sky for northern lights without stepping outside.

Enter through the spacious covered deck, which wraps around two sides of the home and provides a protected place to come in from the snow. Inside, the entry has plenty of room for winter coats, boots, and outdoor gear.

The entry opens into a vaulted living and dining area with a table for six, TV, and entertainment options for cozy evenings inside. A loveseat pulls out into a full-size bed and works especially well for children, though it may be a little short for most adults.

Just around the corner is the fully equipped kitchen. We love to cook and have stocked it with the cookware, utensils, spices, coffee, tea, and everyday basics we appreciate when traveling. If you find something missing, please let me know!

A short hallway leads to the first-floor bathroom with a full-size shower and combination washer/dryer, perfect for small loads during your stay.

Upstairs are two equal-size bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed. One of our favorite features of the house is the bedroom windows positioned so you can peek outside and check for the aurora from the warmth of your bed before deciding whether it’s time to bundle up and head outside.

The wooded setting provides dark skies and a peaceful place to enjoy Alaska’s winter scenery. Moose also occasionally wander through the property, so you may even have a few Alaska visitors of your own.

Whether you spend your days exploring Fairbanks, soaking at Chena Hot Springs, riding a dog sled, chasing the northern lights, or experiencing the snow and cold of Interior Alaska, the house offers a warm and welcoming place to come home to.

Come experience an Alaska winter—with the comforts of home waiting for you at the end of the day.

Guest access
Guests have full, private access to the entire two-bedroom, one-bathroom house and covered porch.
Dedicated parking is available for up to three vehicles, along with an exterior outlet for plugging in one vehicle during cold weather.

AWD or 4WD is required during the winter. The property is located in a wooded, hilly area, and winter driving conditions in Fairbanks can include packed snow and ice. We strongly recommend arriving with a winter-ready vehicle and being comfortable driving in Alaska winter conditions.

There is another full-time residence on the property, but only a small portion of the driveway is shared. We simply ask guests to be considerate when coming and going.

Other things to note
Winter in Fairbanks is beautiful—and genuinely cold. Temperatures can fall well below zero, particularly during December, January, and February. Please come prepared with appropriate winter clothing and footwear.

An exterior electrical outlet is available for plugging in one vehicle. If you are renting a vehicle, we recommend confirming that it is properly winterized and equipped with a plug-in/block heater cord.

Snow and ice are a normal part of an Interior Alaska winter. The driveway is maintained, but conditions can change quickly during snowfall or extreme cold, which is why AWD or 4WD is required in winter.

Northern lights are often visible from the property when conditions cooperate, but aurora sightings can never be guaranteed because they depend on solar activity, cloud cover, and other conditions.

You may also see moose wandering through the property. They are incredible to watch, but please never approach or feed them. Give them plenty of room and allow them to move along on their own.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

This was easily one of the nicest stays I've ever had. The host was kind, communicative, and incredibly accommodating. The house is easily the best-stocked and thought out property I've stayed in. Little details, like having cooking oil and spices, made the house feel homey. Amenities like a carport and outlet for an engine block heater, and washer/dryer add convenience. Location feels private, but close to town. Property was spotless and well-maintained. Easy 5/5 stars - thank you, Ginger!

Seth, Thank you so much for this incredible review—it truly means a lot to us! We’re so glad you felt at home and that the little details made a difference in your stay. We put a lot of thought into stocking the house and making it as comfortable and convenient as possible, especially with things like the carport, block heater outlet, and washer/dryer for those Alaska conditions. We also love that balance of privacy while still being close to town, so it’s great to hear you enjoyed that too. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’d absolutely love to welcome you back anytime!

What a beautiful and quiet little getaway!I normally stay in hotel hotels when I travel for work, but I took the opportunity here in Alaska to rent this little house and I could not be happier! The drive through the woods and the snow to get to the house was gorgeous and felt like I was escaping from the city and any hint of work. The cabinet itself was amazing, with everything that I could’ve needed and so many things that I didn’t even use this time. Snacks, coffee, dishes, and even bathroom toiletries! Everything that I could have needed was there, and it was almost like being at home, but with a much better view! I would recommend this to anyone trying to break away from the hustle and bustle and really just enjoy some quiet time in Alaska.!
The drive-in was completely beautiful

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review—we’re so glad you chose to switch it up from a hotel and stay with us! It means a lot to hear that the cabin gave you that true “escape” feeling, especially with the peaceful drive in and the quiet surroundings. We love creating a space that feels like a home away from home, so we’re thrilled you enjoyed the stocked kitchen, snacks, coffee, and little extras throughout the cabin. And we couldn’t agree more—the views out here really do make it special. We’d absolutely love to host you again anytime you’re back in Alaska, whether for work or another quiet getaway!

Everything about this property was fantastic. From the moment you first walk in it’s perfect. We felt so at home! The layout, the furniture, the beds and bedrooms are so comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need, from pots/pans to utensils. The host was very personable and quick to answer any questions. It was so peaceful inside and out. Thank you for a great week. Our son in the military was able to come over and spend some time with much time with us. Just a super pleasant week. Wish we could stay longer, and hope to come back in the future. Thanks again for everything!!

This is my second stay at this property, and the stay just keeps getting better. Traveling for work, it is so relaxing to be able to break away from the city and disappear into the woods to relax and recover each night. The cabin is comfortable, convenient, and finished really well. It doesn’t feel like a rental at all! And everything you could possible need is available and easy to find! One of the biggest frustrations with traveling is finding what is needed, like appliances, dishes, storage, but everything is so thoughtfully placed and labeled that it takes no effort to find everything in this stay. Even down to the dim, motion sensing nightlights that make accessing the stairs and bathroom so effortless at night. The drive into the property was magical in the winter, and is now enchanting in the summer. I can’t say enough about the rental and the hosts. Such thoughtful owners that even left a greeting card to welcome me back on the second stay. The pictures will say more than I can in the reviews. This property is highly recommended for anyone wanting to relax with family or solo!

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review—and thank you for choosing to stay with us again! Repeat guests are truly the greatest compliment we can receive, and we're honored that our cabin has become your home away from home while traveling for work. We're so glad the peaceful setting continues to provide a place to relax and recharge after long days. It means so much to hear that you appreciate the little details throughout the cabin. We put a lot of thought into making the space comfortable, intuitive, and easy to settle into, so knowing those touches make a difference is rewarding. Thank you again for your kind words, your note in our guest book, and continued support. We look forward to hosting you again on your next trip and hope the woods continue to provide that perfect escape in every season!

We’re local hosts and always available if anything comes up during your stay. I like to message if there is wildlife around so you don't miss them or let you know about fun events my family or I really enjoy.

I'm an active person who enjoys camping, hiking, reading, quilting, real estate, and hanging out with my family. My favorite time of day is the morning and listening to nature while enjoying a cup of hot coffee or tea. I love the quiet of the country but greatly appreciate the convenience of town.

Why they chose this property

We chose this neighborhood because it offers the best of both worlds — the peaceful feeling of being out in the Alaskan countryside while still being conveniently located about 10 minutes from town. The home sits at the end of the street, which makes it especially quiet and private with very little traffic. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy the surrounding nature, and still have easy access to everything Fairbanks has to offer.

What makes this property unique

What makes this property special is the peaceful setting combined with thoughtful design for a comfortable stay. The home sits at the end of a quiet street, offering extra privacy and beautiful views of the surrounding forest. Upstairs bedroom windows are positioned so guests can check the sky for the northern lights without even stepping outside during aurora season. With cozy indoor spaces and a large covered porch for relaxing outdoors, it’s a wonderful place to unwind while experiencing the beauty of Alaska.
