What makes this property unique
My dad, John, grew up near West Chester Pennsylvania. He began his adult life with service in the United States Navy. He was admitted into Basic Submarine Training at New London, Connecticut. Upon graduation he was then assigned to the USS Ethan Allen SSBN 608 Gold Crew conducting deterrent war patrols in the Mediterranean at the height of the cold war. Stationed on the Ethan Allen, he embraced a life of dedication and commitment.
After the Navy, he acquired a full time job at Polaroid in Cambridge, Massachusetts and worked as a lab technician until he retired.
In 2002, he purchased this house. This home was his forever home, a cherished nature retreat. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, he found peace in the serenity of his surroundings. He truly loved this property.
My dad enjoyed hosting others at his home. He loved to cook and he relished the company of friends and family. When I think of daddy, I often picture him cooking and puttering around his kitchen while listening to music. Because Daddy welcomed others into his home, he created lasting memories. His hospitable nature and genuine love for entertaining left a mark on all who visited him.
However, near the end of 2021, Daddy became very sick and we discovered he had liver cancer. He didnt have to fight for long and I am thankful that his death was not long and painful. On December 30, 2022, my dad peacefully passed away in his sleep at a hospice center in Stoneham, Massachusetts. To honor his memory, I have transformed his beloved home into a short-term rental, ensuring that he will continue to welcome guests.
On the north side of the yard, along the tree line, I have created a memorial in his honor where we spread his ashes. I hope that all who stay at this house feel his hospitable spirit.
As time passes, hopefully new memories will be made by those who visit.
Thank you for honoring my dad by visiting his beloved home.
