About the town of Meggen: Exceptional location and a breathtaking lake view

In Meggen, old farmhouses stand side by side with sophisticated villas, where tradition meets cosmopolitanism. The town captivates with its spectacular location on Lake Lucerne, where the village nestles on the southern slope between Lucerne and Küssnacht.

Quick access throughout Switzerland
Conditions are ideal, especially for commuters travelling to the greater Zurich and Lucerne areas or coming to Meggen for work. The public transport network is exceptionally well-developed. Two bus routes connect the town with the city of Lucerne: the main train station is about a 15-minute ride away. Meggen has a train station in Hintermeggen and, since 2006, one in the town centre. Lucerne and Küssnacht can each be reached in about ten minutes via the S-Bahn and the Voralpenexpress. From Meggen, you can quickly reach the A4 via Küssnacht (about 6 km away) by car towards Zug (28 km) and Zurich (48 km), as well as via city centre Lucerne (6 km) to the A2 towards Basel (100 km) and towards Lugano (172 km). In the summer, scheduled boats operated by the Lake Lucerne Shipping Company stop at the pier near Fridolin-Hofer-Platz.
