New Listing!
Welcome to Popham Perch!
This historic 1800s riverfront cottage in Phippsburg, Maine is a peaceful retreat overlooking the Kennebec River, with water views from nearly every room, including a wonderful screened-in porch that’s perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery. The space offers Three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a relaxed, lived-in charm. Guests can enjoy dock access, two single-person kayaks, and prime fly-fishing, all in a quiet, scenic setting. The cottage is located just four miles from Popham Beach. Popham Beach is one of Maine’s most loved beaches, known for its wide sandy shoreline, rolling dunes, and sweeping views where the river meets the open ocean, offering something a little different every time you visit.
As you enter the home, you’ll step into a small hallway that reflects the character of an older house. The refrigerator is located just off the kitchen, along with an antique storage cabinet that serves as a food pantry-- a practical and charming solution given the home’s original layout. To the right is the compact kitchen, thoughtfully arranged for everyday meal prep, featuring a gas stove and a small dishwasher. The kitchen window offers lovely views of the Kennebec River.
The kitchen opens into a comfortable sitting area with a propane fireplace and an adjoining dining area, creating an easy, open flow for gathering. From here, step out onto the screened-in porch or the open porch, both overlooking the river and dock area; perfect spots to enjoy morning coffee, watch the tide, or unwinding with your favorite cocktail at the end of the day!
The main floor also features a cozy bedroom with a queen bed and lovely views of the Kennebec River, along with a convenient half bath that includes a washer and dryer.
Upstairs, the second floor offers two additional bedrooms, each with a queen bed and beautiful river views. There are two full updated bathrooms and a second sitting area, perfect for relaxing, reading, or enjoying the scenery. The home has a comfortable, lived-in feel-- a bit rustic, full of character, and ideal for those who appreciate waterfront charm with dock access, over luxury.
