We felt the property was absolutely perfect and outfitted beyond our expectations.
We spent Thanksgiving weekend here and had everything we possibly needed to prepare a feast for 6 adults. The kitchen was amazing.
The master bedroom bed was the best we have experienced any place we have stayed. And, the bathroom was beautiful, including plenty luxurious towels.
I would love to return in the summer when we could enjoy all of the outdoor equipment and the gorgeous property.
I recommend this home to anyone looking for a comfortable upscale home with all the accoutrements!

Spacious and Gracious Mountain Retreat
We visit Aspen annually to ski and decided to rent near Basalt this year to have a more authentic mountain town experience. We couldn't have asked for more with this Spring Creek rental. Staying there made us feel like locals and we had easy access to skiing (Snowmass is moments away), ice skating, winter sports, as well as easy access to towns like Basalt, El Jebel, and Carbondale (all which had amazing dining options at incredibly reasonable prices). The home itself is a beautiful property, elegantly decorated, and well organized and stocked for short term guests. The owner has lived in the Valley for over twenty years and had great recommendations for all our interests and was very professional and accommodating. If you want to feel as though you really live in the Aspen Valley, with access to town but without the sea of tourists, this home is the perfect retreat for a mountain escape.
We spent most of our time in the backyard. It is beautiful and relaxing. There was a lot of things to keep the kids busy and having fun, and fishing for the guys. It is a quiet neighborhood but everything you need right around the corner. The house had plenty of room for my family of seven.
We had a family of seven stay at Doug‘s property. The kids absolutely love the backyard. From the Playhouse to the zip line, they loved it. The kitchen is extremely nice plenty of room to roam around great neighborhood. I can’t say enough about this property. You will not be disappointed
Everything as advertised and more. Perfect location in quiet neighborhood, backing to national forest land with direct access trail along the river. Close to everything and beautiful home.
Thanks for everything Doug, we had a wonderful family Spring Break!
It was an amazing experience, we recommend this beautiful place if you want to have great quality time with all your family. We were a party of 7 and the space was more than enough, the rooms and all the house were great, the kitchen have everything you could ever need. We loved it, we recommend this place 100%. Doug the owner was very helpful and very kind we thank you for the amazing treatment. Hope to see you in our next winter vacations
This was not just a rental property but a great home! The location was very close to all the services and shops needed, but still had the feel of country life. The kitchen was well equipped, & the yard was full of games to keep the kids entertained while we cooked. The radiant heat kept the whole house warm and cozy. And the huge hottub was such an enjoyment after a long day hitting the slopes. Aspen Snowmass was only 20 minutes away and Sunlight Mountain only 35. The local trails along the Roaring Fork from the back yard was easy and fun for the kids.. Our only lowpoint staying with Doug was leaving!
I don’t even want to tell anyone how great this place is...
This property is one the rare online rentals that is better in person. I mean a crystal clear pond...with trout...and a zipline. Seriously? It truly has something for everyone, regardless of your age or interests. The location is unparalleled...equally isolated and in the middle of everything. I could go on, but I’d still like it to be available for our future stays!
Wow! Look no further! Words cannot describe the beauty of this property. The home sits on nearly 2 acres of lush green grass with mature trees scattered perfectly around the property. Both the front and back yard are extremely private, providing a serene space where you can relax and focus on what’s really important in life. The inside of the home is very spacious and just as beautiful; stocked with everything you need and more! Our boys loved feeding the trout, ziplining, playing in the awesome treehouse, picking fresh tomatoes from the garden, and apples from the trees. We enjoyed playing croquet, badminton, cornhole, sitting in the hot tub, and cooking in the fully equipped kitchen. The Roaring Fork River is also very short hike away. Doug and Rebecca are top-notch hosts and made sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Our family is very grateful to have the opportunity to stay here.
We had a very memorable time at this property. The backyard, tree house, stream and the huge windows in the house were some of our favourite parts of this trip. The house is located in a beautiful community with a pond and is walkable from whole foods and a bunch of other stores. Our dog and babies had so much fun too. Doug was very responsive to all our questions and I would highly recommend this place!
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we weren't able to go on our trip or stay at this lovely-looking home. I want to thank Doug for his prompt communication when I booked his home months ago, but especially as the seriousness of the virus unfolded and his willingness to refund us. We are hoping to be back next year!
This house features many amenities you can't see from the photos. There is a zip line in the back yard as well as a trampoline, tree house/jungle gym, fire pit and grills. The interior is beyond spacious with beautiful light, privacy, built in sound system, baby grand piano and dreamy kitchen. We used the house for overnight lodging and a team dinner on a work retreat and couldn't envision a better environment.
Doug was also very communicative and accommodating. It was clear our enjoyment was his priority.
Thanks Doug!
We had the opportunity to stay here for a wonderful weekend in the Aspen area and couldn’t have been happier. Perfect size for our large family and they had so many welcoming touches for our stay. Doug was so gracious and a great communicator. We will definitely be back!
I booked this house for a weekend birthday getaway for me and 9 friends, and it did not disappoint. The house is HUGE, with a great open floorplan ground floor and a group of gorgeous bedrooms on the second floor. The kitchen was large and provided everything we needed for group dinners each night. The dining room table provided plenty of space for 10 people, as did the living room area with a huge multi-sectional couch and a couple of super-comfy lounge chairs. The windows in this place are everywhere, floor-to-ceiling, and provide a great deal of lighting. This house has it all - great location, wonderful back yard, large hot tub, spacious kitchen, great bedrooms, and more! Would stay again, especially with the convenient distance to Aspen for snowboarding.
My family and I stayed for a week during the New Year’s and were most impressed in every aspect by the property and the owners responsiveness to any of our needs. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a getaway particularly those with family.
This place is amazing.. My whole family wants to move here. The kitchen is a joy to cook in. The yard is beautiful. The kids loved it and played and played. Doug was great to work with. Can’t wait to go back!!!

About the host
Hosted by Doug
I am a Colorado native and my family and I have made the Aspen valley home for 30 years. My wife and three girls love where we live and embrace the mountain lifestyle we have chosen with enthusiasm. Hopefully we can share our wonderful home with you for brief time.
Why they chose this property
Our home is just that - a home - very comfortable - inviting and enjoyable. Not a typical vacation rental. We have wine in the wine cooler and sugar in the cupboard. If you use a bottle of white, please replace a new bottle. If you use the last of the sugar, please replace. Warm and inviting.
What makes this property unique
Small town living for big city people is how we describe where we live. It is a wonderful place to visit with all the amenities of an urban existence with fresh Rocky Mountain air, crystal clear rivers, incredible hiking, biking, skiing and culture right out the front door.
