This charming, comfortable and rustic ranch style home is situated on a peaceful street surrounded by million dollar properties! Located just off Ben Sawyer Boulevard within close proximity to Coleman Boulevard, Highway 17, I-26 and I-526 in a tranquil, safe and established neighborhood "Old Mt. Pleasant". The home features 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with queen size beds / 1 bed with a double size bed) and 2 full baths. The kitchen features an eat-in area with a small bar area.
The proximity to local beaches, Shem Creek, Historic Charleston, all sorts of outdoor water activities, the best food and entertainment the Lowcountry offers and competitive pricing makes this home the perfect vacation get away. Also enjoy Old Mt. Pleasant by taking walk or bike ride to the Pitt Street Bridge overlooking the Charleston Harbor or parks that are all within a short distance.
*Note: The property has 2 driveways which can hold 2 cars each (4 total) and a gravel parking area along the street for 1-2 cars. So, there is parking for 5 cars easily (maybe 6 depending on the sizes of the cars). A 27' boat or camper or smaller should fit. At this time we do not have any bicycles, however, there are several rental companies in the area. If you would like bicycles, please let me know and I will consider getting some in the future. TRAVEL INSURANCE We highly suggest our guests to purchase travel insurance when making the their reservations if they consider it necessary. Especially during the Hurricane season for the area. We do not offer any refunds for any cancellations unless the immediate area of the property is under a mandatory evacuation.
MISC. Early Check-In: Our cleaners have a tight schedule preparing our homes for upcoming guests. Please do not ask for an early check-in unless it's absolutely necessary. We will do our best to accommodate.
Supplies (Paper, soap, etc...): We will provide a starter kit for you. However, we will not replenish the supply during your stay. The home is fully stocked with everything you need.

Just refurbished and beautifully decorated. Everything was brand new and had everything we needed and then some, even condiments and spices were thoughtfully supplied. Wonderful new mattresses and quiet neighborhood made for great sleeping.
Beautiful property, very accurate to listing! They even had beach chairs, extra towels, blankets! The outdoor space with the fire place was the perfect way to end the night!!
The ice machine produced more than enough ice for the beach each day!
Centrally located! 12 minutes to IOP, 20 to Wild Dunes, 18 to Folly, and 8 to downtown Charleston!
I will absolutely stay here again if I can!!!

fantastic
We would definitely stay there again was a great house and a wonderful quiet neighborhood. our son had ankle surgery, was on crutches and couldn't go anywhere for 72 hours. It has a remodeled kitchen 2 bathrooms 3 bedroom washer dryer. 2 grocery stores within minutes and a short drive to Charleston or the beach. it was great it was perfect.

I stayed at this location because of it’s proximity to my brother’s wedding venue—location is about the only nice thing about this stay! We stayed for a week, but we had some serious issue with the property midway through, which were handled in a disgusting manner by the property manager, Ric. The house has a cockroach problem. We killed multiple LARGE roaches with the roach killer… that we discovered in every bathroom and kitchen cabinet in the house (clearly something management was aware of, if they stocked pesticides so thoroughly). We contacted Ric, and we were appalled at how rude he was. Ric offered to cancel the rest of our stay and refund us, but since it was an event weekend in Charleston and the wedding was occupying all of our time, we were unable to move (very limited VRBO/hotel availability). Ric escalated the situation, threatening all sorts of things and coming up with some really clever insults for our group besides ("Taj-Mahal New Yorkers" sticks in my memory as both a racist and intolerant thing to say). Honestly, we have been so disappointed with VRBO and Ric’s wildly unprofessional response to the situation. I would never recommend this house or its manager.

The pictures are deceiving, the property hasn’t been kept up since taking the pictures. The old hardwoods are very dirty, the home also has a musty smell to it. The location is the best thing about this home.

This traveler wrote a poor review because he demanded a refund AFTER he stayed at the house. Trent failed to read the original quote which clearly states the additional fees for additional guests, in which he had (6 occupants), which is an additional fee through the VRBO platform. Due to his own fault and misunderstanding of the published fees, not the fault of myself or VRBO, Trent requested a refund AFTER he checked out. I'm sure if I would have refunded him money, due to his own fault, I wouldn't be typing this right now. Furthermore, Trent requested a very early check in (several hours before the normal check in time) and our cleaners had to work very efficiently to accommodate him. Of course, Trent didn't have the common courtesy to say "Thank you" or leave our cleaners a tip for their hard work. Unfortunately, it's people like Trent that make owner's change their rules and early check in fees will probably apply for future guests. Thankfully, we will not be renting to Trent in the future. Lastly, all photographs of the property were taken by my personally with a cell phone, not a professional photographer, and are very accurate of the property and description. And finally, Trent states the property hasn't been kept up...However, both bathrooms were renovated 3 months ago, the range and dishwasher are less than a year old, etc... Readers beware of people like Trent! Please make sure to read all of the positive reviews. Thank you!

This is a disappointing review, however, we realize we can't please everyone. There are plenty of positive reviews from previous guests stating how comfortable the beds are, how much they like the home, etc... Unfortunately, we didn't receive any contact from this guest until the night prior to his departure (5 nights after he had already been there!). Our cleaning crew made an extra effort to review the items he mentioned, however, they couldn't verify or confirm anything he stated. If the items he mentioned were actually the case, we would have gladly moved him to one of our other VRBO properties or cancelled his reservation to accommodate him. Unfortunately, he just didn't communicate and/or give us an opportunity!
The house was exactly as we expected. Clean, well furnished, and in a quiet neighborhood, just a short drive to Sullivan’s Island beach. The beds were particularly comfortable and we loved having multiple hangout places. A bonus was how many great restaurants were within walking distance (less than a mile), as well as two excellent grocery stores. Would definitely stay there again if we wanted to return to Mt Pleasant for a working vacation.
The house is in a lovely neighborhood, great for walking, parks, grocery, and restaurants. We were 10 minutes in either direction to Sullivan’s Island, Charleston, and family. The house is fully stocked with everything a family needs.

Great location! There was flooding Charleston during our trip but this property was on higher ground and unaffected. Super comfy beds! Perfect amount of space for our family of five - 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Well-stocked kitchen. Check-in was a bit confusing but Ric was super responsive. We would love to stay in the future! Charleston is very close. Mt Pleasant is truly pleasant. The house was spacious and as pretty as its pictures. Also functional and comfortable. The backyard is ready for a party or just relaxing. The minor items we brought to Ric's attention were immediately handled in a highly satisfactory manner. Next time we're in the area, we will stay here.

Lovely updates to the property. New furniture and new backyard space made for a great place to get together with friends for the weekend. And Ric was always fast to respond, which made the whole process easy. Nice place in Mt. P.
Overall nice experience. Nicely decorated and updated but a few things could be improved. Doors were hard to open and close. Bathroom door didn't lock. Everything but coffee mugs.

Your review of the property is disappointing. Due to the situation with your husband becoming very ill and hospitalized in Charleston, we gave you the opportunity to look at the property prior to committing per your request. Per your email on 11/5/2016, you stated “it appears clean & a place where we will hopefully be safe & yes we are grateful”. You also accepted the quoted price after viewing the property!
Shortly thereafter, you mentioned the landscaping. At that time, our landscaper was extremely busy with Hurricane Matthew cleanup and was taking longer than normal to maintain all of his properties, including ours. You were certainly aware of the issues caused by Hurricane Matthew, as you stated in your initial email “We had received substantial damage to our waterfront unit from Matthew”. This was another main reason you needed housing. Ironically, you had an issue with a minimal landscaping cleanup that was needed at our home. Furthermore, the garage and/or access to the garage isn’t part of the rental agreement. And, I also find it very disappointing that I never heard a word from you about anything until receiving your review.
In conclusion, thanks for sending your review on Christmas Day! I certainly hope your husband is doing better! Fortunately, VRBO gives owners the opportunity for rebuttal.

Plan to stay here again
We were meeting in Mount Pleasant for a family gathering since our son and family live there; this house was perfect. Our daughter, husband and son flew in from NM and really enjoyed the use of the bicycles. My brother flew in from Missouri and particularly enjoyed the big screen TV for football and baseball games. The kitchen is great and fully stocked with pots, pans and all manner of utensils, as well as a nice assortment of spices. The beds are comfortable, and the ac works well. The manager provided excellent service and responded promptly to our request to extend our departure. This will be the first place we check on future trips to Mount Pleasant.

Complete dissatisfaction, no words to describe
This is without a doubt the worst experience I have had in a rental property, and I have stayed at many. The place was infested with roaches; I informed the owner and he sent out a service to fumigate. I am not talking about a couple of roaches, I mean dozens of live and dead roaches inside the home. It got so bad after fumigation (which is normal) that we had to leave and rent a hotel for a couple of days while the fumigation took effect!
I asked for a refund, but was denied based on the contract. so I would advise that you look around before you rent. This place was one of the cheaper for the area, and now I know why.

Just like the reviews, you have good guests and you have poor guests. It's very disappointing to receive poor reviews from people who we are completely unable to satisfy, no matter how hard you try. This particular guest ACCEPTED our contract prior to their arrival on 8/24. Apparently, she didn't read the terms which are very descriptive, thorough and self explanatory. Our contract states that if our guests have ANY issues whatsoever, to contact us immediately and PRIOR to moving into the property. This guest didn’t contact us at their arrival (see next paragraph). If there are ever any issues prior to or at move in, we want to remedy them to prevent any inconveniences. We haven't had any pre-move in issues for any of our properties in over 3 years of using VRBO.
This particular guest moved into and accepted our property on 8/24. Not only did they move into the home and spend the night, they didn't contact me until following day stating an issue with insects and demanded a FULL REFUND! The guest should have contacted us immediately if they noticed "dead roaches" in the property. I informed the guest that minimal insects are common for homes in the area and the guest responded: "WE ARE AWARE THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL INSECTS IN THIS AREA, WE HAVE BEEN LIVING IN MOUNT PLEASANT IN TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR A MONTH NOW AND HAVE SEEN ROACHES, SPIDERS, ANTS OF ALL SIZES". I immediately contacted our licensed pest control operator, who provides routine service (yearly contract), to spray the home again for this particular guest. The service company arrived within a couple of hours. The guest states the service company “fumigated” the home which is incorrect. The home was not fumigated (use of smoke or fumes) while the guests were in the home. Fumigating a home with current occupants isn't "normal" as the guest states. “Fumigation” of the home was not necessary and that would be completely unacceptable. Our pest control servicer will supply a satisfaction letter in the near future for review.
In conclusion, this particular guest simply didn't read our reservation agreement. Ironically, after having the home serviced for insects, I never heard from them again with any issues whatsoever. I believe she simply wanted a free place to stay while they were in between moves. Unfortunately with the VRBO process, we can’t screen guests like this one. If so, we would have never rented to them. We have had a lot of satisfied guests in the past and will continue to do so.

Great Location and Price
It was wonderful to have a house for extended family (all adults) instead of multiple hotel rooms while we attended a funeral. This house had everything we needed (kitchen, beds, WiFi, gathering space & yard) and was in a great location (convenient to stores & central Mt. Pleasant). As previous people have noted, it is on the older side but the price can't be beat. The manager was quick to respond which was important given the short time frame we had. We'd definitely stay here again for a quick trip.

Hope to stay here again!
This house was perfect for our vacation. It was very clean and well taken care of. There were plenty of towels (bathing and beach)and linens. There were also 4 adult bikes and a youth bike to ride along the shaded streets. The kitchen was very good sized and prefect for cooking family meals. Our visit was in summer, so I was concerned the AC might have issues. BOY WAS I WRONG! It worked like a champ. The whole house is shaded in large trees so it stayed very cool and comfortable. There are also 2 driveways on either side of the house, so if you are traveling by RV you have a place to park with no problems. The house was close to everything so it never took long to go anywhere. I would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat!
