About this property

Historic Harbor Home • Roof Deck • Water Views • Walk to Town & Acadia Ferry

Pres du Port is a historic 1849 home perched above Stonington Harbor, full of character and classic old-Maine charm. Offered as a private, whole-house rental, the home features six bedrooms and eight beds, making it ideal for families, friends, or groups who appreciate historic homes and a relaxed coastal setting.

The kitchen is practical and well equipped, with butcher block countertops, two sinks, newer appliances, and plenty of cookware for preparing meals at home. Several comfortable gathering spaces throughout the house make it easy for groups to spend time together while still having room to spread out. These include a dining room, living room with wood fireplace, enclosed porch with dining table and large bay windows overlooking the harbor and a roofdeck above the enclosed porch.

The roof deck has great views of Stonington Harbor—perfect for morning coffee or watching lobster boats come and go in the harbor.

Upstairs are five bedrooms and three full baths, providing space and privacy for larger groups. Several rooms offer harbor or sunset views, and one bedroom opens directly onto the deck, The bedroom in the back of the house has a queen bed plus a loft with two twin beds and a kitchenette. A smaller sixth bedroom is located on the first floor for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.

Like many historic homes, bedrooms vary in size, layout, and ceiling height, which adds to the house’s unique personality.

The location is hard to beat. The house sits on the edge of town and is an easy walk to Stonington’s restaurants, shops, galleries, and the Stonington Opera House. Daily boat trips depart from the harbor for Isle au Haut, part of Acadia National Park. Penobscot Bay is also renowned for kayaking, boating, and wildlife—seals, porpoises, eagles, and osprey are frequently seen.

Bedroom 1 – Beau Ciel: King bed, en suite bath (shower & tub), harbor & sunset views
