The holiday home is lovingly decorated in a cosy and somewhat nostalgic style. The half-timbered structure and old rubble-stone walls of our Westerwald farmhouse, built around 1860, have been preserved. It is located near the forest, with many extensive hiking trails nearby. The WesterwaldSteig premium hiking trail is just 300 m from the holiday home.
The small village of Astert (approx. 260 residents) lies on the Nister River in the heart of Kroppacher Schweiz, not far from the old Cistercian Abbey of Marienstatt (founded in 1222). The village features many old Westerwald half-timbered houses as well as a cosy inn and is located about 5 km from the romantic little town of Hachenburg.
