This property was beautiful and the view from the deck is incredible! The kitchen was well stocked and our wonderful hostess even included sweet touches like donuts and coffee for us! Absolutely loved our stay and I highly recommend to anyone visiting Ellijay. Loved it!!

Great place to stay. Very clean, and newer. Beautiful view and great screened in porch on the back as well as a great cabin layout with good tvs in the upstairs and downstairs hangout areas. The Host was also incredibly friendly, and left us several treats! One of my friends didn’t like their backyard camera. It’s outside, and not hidden so nothing super creepy or illegal lol, but it’s eye level when you sit on the back porch from how they hung it on the railing. Probably aimed that way so they can see the back doors and hung on the rail for convenience, but it also had a motion activated light. I definitely understand his concern. Some people are more uncomfortable than others with being recorded, so just be mindful if you are one of those people. You could honestly probably reach out to them in advance and ask if it could be aimed away during your stay or if you could put something in front of the part that looks at the porch if you’re super concerned with privacy. Still an overall 5 star experience to me!!

The camera is installed outdoors for security purposes, and we understand that guests may have different comfort levels when it comes to cameras. The particularly windy conditions during your stay can trigger frequent motion alerts as the camera detects movement outdoors. That said, we understand how its placement and motion-activated light might feel distracting while relaxing on the porch. We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge on Walnut Ridge! It was very clean and comfortable and easily accommodated all eight of us. The mountain views were stunning and peaceful. We were lucky to see a mama bear and her three cubs wander through the backyard, and we also spotted a family of five deer and we got some incredible photos. We slept in comfort with the windows open each night and fell asleep to the sounds of nature.The oversized couch in the great room was perfect for us to watch movies together, and the popcorn left for us was such a thoughtful touch! And thanks for the delicious bottle of wine you left for us too. One night, we grilled steaks on Blackstone and gathered around the fire pit after dinner. So relaxing! We loved your selection of books and games and Telestrations was a huge hit. Thanks for recommending The Butcher and Bottle - it was delicious. We can’t wait to come back!
