Location
The holiday rental at the Arlau Lock is nestled in the typical North Frisian marsh landscape, right next to the Wadden Sea National Park and World Natural Heritage Site. It’s situated directly on the Beltringharder Koog, which wasn’t diked until 1987 and is now Schleswig-Holstein’s largest onshore nature reserve. Thousands of geese, ducks, and other birds gather here—a true spectacle of nature! And you can watch it all right from your living room window or your stylish terrace. It’s just five km to the nearest swimming spot on the green outer dike, which features a small restaurant.

The charming surrounding area is perfect for exploring by bike. The network of bike paths is excellent. Right on your doorstep are the North Frisian islands and Halligs, which can be explored via Hallig boat tours and, in some cases, guided mudflat hikes. Husum, “the grey city by the sea” of Theodor Storm, Schleswig, Flensburg, the Kingdom of Denmark, and many other worthwhile destinations are easily accessible.

A grand, architecturally designed staircase (as high as the dike) leads you to the 90-square-meter holiday apartment. It features a spacious, light-filled living-dining area with a large TV and stereo system. Enjoy an exciting book in front of the crackling electric fireplace and simply gaze out at the impressive landscape. The beautiful hardwood floors create a cosy atmosphere.

The open-concept kitchen is perfectly equipped for a relaxing holiday with an induction stove, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, Qbo Essential, and Thermomix. The entire living area is heated by underfloor heating.
The modern shower room, from which you also have a breathtaking view of the Arlau, is complemented by a spacious sauna.

The bedroom is furnished with a box-spring bed (180 x 200).
A staircase leads to the loft, which is furnished with a double bed (160 x 200)—perfect for children!

An initial set of bed linens and towels is required for this accommodation and is already included in the final price.
